i know this is bait, but if a movie has like 5+ ICONIC (in every sense of the word) scenes, it's pretty much set in stone. i like part 2 slightly better, and like i said, i don't really like coppola's techniques, but the story is great, with the overarching theme of the OLD ways vs the NEW ways.

i know it's adapted from a novel, but it's well shot too, overall greatly acted and has a sense of style. brando may be a meme now, but the fact is his portrayal was unique, and pacino is great and you feel he has a character arc.

dat sense of italian family togetherness during the wedding and in the corleone household in general (which comes with the passion and fighting, especially when sonny's involved)

dat michael shopping during the winter in new york

dat revolver in toiler

dat hospital suspense

dat michael leading the family and sniffing the traitors out

DAT FUCKING BAPTISM SCENE

I do renounce them

faggot instead of badmouthing it how about YOU provide a +250 statement of your own about why you think it's not good in any way and has no memorable scenes and not influential in movie history and pop culture in general
>>
>>63136916
>le Italian movie = high art
Seriously though, I get it. It was original in it's time, and a lot of movies borrowed from it. I even like 70's cinematography & creeping pace, but if I made the same movie at the same time with a different ethnicity, you would've never heard of it.

>>
>>63137164
funny you say that because THIS MOVIE basically started the LEL ITALIAN MOB thing in pop culture. that's how influential it is.

and your only criticism is that it's about italians?
italians are a race of proud good looking passionate expressive people and of course were prominent in america because of the mass immigration (and real-life mobs)

the mobs were italian
the writer is italian
the director is italian
a lot of the actors were of italian descent
a lot of 1st gen italian AMERICANS were coming of age at the time
>>
>>63136826

Should have killed Kickass and had a movie about a Father trying to rescue his sons family.

Killing Cranston was retarded.

I still enjoyed it though.
>>
>>63137164

>le american movie = pulp garbage
Seriously though, I get it. It was original in it's time, and a lot of movies borrowed from it. I even like 00's quick cut & shaky cam, but if I made the same movie at the same time with a different ethnicity, you would've never heard of it

I love italians, I liked Goodfellas.
You just have to realize that where I live, italian & french names are shilled as fine art, and people perpetuate this as law.
Sometimes I want a different cultural perspective, that's all.

it couldve been GOAT godzilla movie if they had done this but it was still great (in my opinion). I also liked that it paid homage to old Tojo gojira movies, unlike that shitty early-2000's godzilla
>>
Why is the Godfather 3 considered bad compared to the other two? Was it the incest? I understand Sophia's acting was shit but I thought the story was well done as we get to see how Michael can't escape what he's done.

>>63131560
I hated it because it's long-winded and if the book is anything like the film, it's really obvious that it was dedicated purely to loudly and obnoxiously slurping on the flaccid cocks of Italian degenerates.
>>
Fuck you, it was funny.
>>
>>63138276

It's also a nice theme. Cranston in his eyes failed to save his own wife, it would have been nice to have a redemption type thing where he succeeded to save his sons wife.

When he died I was left speechless, I can't believe they tossed away that potentially story for Kickass instead.
