The biggest flaw in the prequels that has continued over to the new movies is the obsession with incorporating as many original trilogy characters as possible.
A huge reason why the plots of the prequels were shit is because they wrote them around including as many characters as possible from the original movies. Needlessly stuffing in old characters to give people another dose of what they liked before.
And just like the prequels, the new movies will feature all the same old characters stuffed in again along with the new ones.
