All of them except The Keep and Public Enemies
>>63108026
The two-part episode of Police Story, 'River of Promises,' but really all four episodes of that show that he wrote. Good seventies cop show. 'The True Detective of its time,' as he called it recently.

>not recognizing Public Enemies as one of his best
You need to watch it more. It took me four viewings before I 'got' it.
>>63108117
it's not one of his best. it's right in the middle. it's good, but he didn't do anything special really.

Is this a rhetorical question?

Blackhat, Heat, Insider, Miami Vice.
Roughly in that order.
That movie about a director slowly going deaf who thinks it's impossible for him to be wrong about anything
God damn cinematography and soundtracks
Always good
>>63108148
Second-best after Miami Vice in my reckoning. The love story is as affecting as Miami Vice's and the mythmaking aspect lends it a lot of gravitas. This is all aside from Mann's usual exceptional late-period digital cinematography.

PE completely wasted a great cast tbqh.
>no collateral
Are you even trying?
Miami Vice is a must see as well.
>>63108249
Don't know why you would bring unsupported gossip up. If that is the case, then all directors should go deaf and think it is impossible for them to be wrong. His late films have been his best.
Fucking Thief and Collateral.

If you liked Miami Vice, the ninth episode of Mann's aborted 2002-03 tv series Robbery Homicide Division, 'Life is Dust,' has a Mann-written script that he later lifted for parts of the Miami Vice movie, specifically the parts with Crockett and Isabella, here played by Tom Sizemore and a Vietnamese actress; it even includes the scene in the shower where they wash each other!
The Insider, Heat, Thief, Collateral
I haven't seen Miami Vice and blackhat is trash
Is Mann the most over praised director after Lynch on this board?
>>63108398

One last screencap before I go, giving some attention to the excellent Mann-directed 'Luck' pilot.
>>63108568

>>63108611
during the second shootout. That shot's just a second after you see Barrett lying on the ground.
>>63108771
I went through it couple of times and recalled it was there, but I think I just managed to jump over it since it was only a second
comfy show
>>63108219
