In my opinion the Mountain is far less capable as a fighter than he seems to be. He is surely a very competent fighter, but it is his savage fury, monstrous size and long reach that makes him so menacing. His fight with Oberyn Martell proves my point: the Red Viper was known as an extremely skilled warrior, but he was far from having legendary status as the likes of Barristan, Arthur Dayne or Jaime, and yet Oberyn toyed with Gregor Clegane, and he toyed because Gregor's size and fury did not frighten him and his spear outreached Gregor's sword, thus Gregor's advantages were nullified by the Red Viper.
That being said, I think Ser Duncan (in his prime) would win the fight, precisely because he would not be afraid of Ser Gregor and Gregor would not have such a reach advantage.

when arild haugen went from strongman competitions to boxing he started doing cardio every day and went down like 20-30kg because their strength is measured by the ability to move massive objects and they do it very slowly
there is damage in their punches because their arms arent capable of moving as fast as someone like mike tyson for example. having that massive strength and size is not really as big of an advantage as people think. he looks scary as fuck but he would get raped in a boxing match versus someone like mike tyson whos or mohammed ali even though they might be half his size or at least noticeably smaller
