OP you seem to be under the impression that strong females don't actually exist. They're not superheroes by any stretch of the imagination, but they can be pretty tough.
i think rick is the only likeable character in the series. at least the last 3 seasons.
Carol is better than most "strong female" types because (by the mediocre characterization of the show) she seems to have actually grown as a character and toughened up from all the horrors that have happened to her.
It's a pretty cool development from when she was an even worse archetype, the scared and battered housewife.
A way worse "strong female" character on the show was Andrea, who was consistently portrayed ass some kind of intelligent, competent badass when in reality she was always doing the stupidest shit

Michonne's character has taken the opposite track. She started off as a badass character and she's softened up over the last couple of seasons.

She isn't a "stronk female character" because she wasn't hamfisted into the cast as that, she's developed over time. Season 1 she was a meek as fuck passive shy loser who got beat up by her husband, and even after he died she was shy and passive and let other people make big decisions, on occassion she got whiny if things really went bad.
She's had to adapt and change and become colder and more forceful in order to survive. And of the cast her development has easily been the most realistic and reasonable of the cast.

Started out a victim of domestic abuse, and treated like shit 24/7. Then she realised her husband wasn't this all powerful person when he died. Then this got compounded by her daughter dying.
It changed her and made her realise she has to do whatever it takes to survive.
