It's not a good movie, but the atmosphere is absolutely amazing and entrancing. I keep going back just for that. It's really not good though.
Wish there were more films with a similar feel.

I agree it's not a good movie in and of itself, but I can't really put my finger on why it isn't good though. Maybe there's just too much random stuff thrown into the plot.
Good, but It seems Polanski lost interest (and money) toward the end. Same with Oliver Twist.

It helps the soundtrack is by Wojceich Kilar, also the book it's based off of is very good, if he had of stayed faithful it would have been amazing.
