So my family is Italian but I was born in Australia. Basically when Columbus was around Italy was several kingdoms who fought each other. He was from Genoa which is where my Grandfather was born - it's close to the northern west border of Italy, near France. Tony Sopranos ancestors were from the South, most likely either Sicily or Calabria. It's easy to marathon whole seasons of breaking bad but with the sopranos it gets boring because they have so many setting up scenes to 'foreshadow' or signpost things really blatantly.
