/mu/ is literally Reddit: the music board and 90% of discussion is about mainstream rap music

>quirky and experimental and extremely eclectic
>with flashes of being mainstream
>started in the 80s and is still working today
>is now entering a sort of elder statesman period
>always half-asses a lot of projects, half-asses some of them, gives his all in some
Stephen Sodenbergh or Richard Linklaster tbhfam.

Such a strange filmography.

Sorry, I meant to write "always has a lot of projects, half-asses some of them."
The thing that might go against my suggestion is Mike Patton, no matter if he half-asses a project, always displays an immense amount of talent in everything he does- pure skill in voices. Stephen- I'm not so sure I get a virtuoso vibe from him. From him I get a more "ehhh.... here's a weird idea I'd like to try, hopefully it'll work" those two temperaments are night and day, but color the work.

We haven't seen him yet. Film as an art form is less than 150 years old. Music has been around for thousands of years. You can't compare the two art forms. Film is too new and primitive compared to music.
