while kubrick does have some films that are the equivalent of looking at a white canvas coated in white paint and being told you're dumb for not appreciating it's symbolism, paths of glory was actually good
Paths of Glory is Kubrick's least self-indulgent movie. It's very straight forward and fast paced, but hits the strongest. Easily one of the best war film of all times.

I almost agree. I think I like 2001 just a little bit more than Paths of Glory, but it's close. Lydon's my favorite.
