What a great little movie.
>>
>>63042220
Emily Blunt was amazing in this, she's pretty much the only credible female action lead at the moment.

Shame she didn't get cast as Black Widow.
>>
>>63042220

It made me forget i was supposed to hate Tom Cruise.
>>
>>63042302

Shame she can't get cast as her own action movie star.
>>
movie? bro that's a film
>>
>>63042356

Let's not get carried away. It's a flick.
>>
>>63042220
LITTLE
>>
>>63042220
Yep. Makes you wish there were more mid-tier budget movies still. Really captured a sort of early-00s sci-fi feel.
>>
>>63042356
no it's not

It's a flick
>>
>burn a flick onto my floppy disk
>watch it on my astral projector

>>63042376
I'd say the first two thirds are movie tier but by the time you get to the final stretch it has devolved to "flick" level.
>>
>>63042220
Yup. Thoroughly enjoyable.
>>
>>63042340
Why? He's very likable.

I don't understand you guys. So, let's say it's a production intended to make a video longer than an hour. it's not an episode of a tv show.

is there a word that describes it, so we can avoid this "movie-film-flick" shit?

back to reddit

He's eccentric. Seems like a great guy through and through. The only things people who don't like him have to say is that he's a passionate Scientology and that he seems too nice to be true.

Caring about "the Scientology debacle".
>>
>>63042859

Whatever you say, newfag.
>>
>>63042964
You can't bruise the Cruise faggot, no one gives a shit about Scientology.

Cruise has been making movies since before you were born, he is the GOAT action star and one of the greatest actors of all time.

Yeah, so? The best actors usually are.

Movie: Average decent production, not a summer block buster, not cape shit, usually not an action flick, does it's job fairly well. I would consider this to be a movie that borders into flick territory.

Film: Usually has a message it's trying to get across, attempts to be "Art", emotion inspiring, can be oscar bait.

Flick: Transformers, cape shit, summer block buster action shit. Can still be good, nothing wrong with being a good action movie.
>>
>>63043289
what about cinema?
>>
>>63042386
that is because it has tom cruise in it. he is dated.

>>
>>63043335
"High brow" version of film, while a film can try to be art at points, cinema is trying at all times.
Arthouse.
>>
>>63043335
cinema is similar to film, tries to get a message across, attempts to be art, however instead of 'attempting' it succeeds, and it is art whether you agree or not

Didn't hate it. I'm kind of a sucker for the theme of reliving one period of time over and over. It's actually the only Tom Cruise movie I've ever even seen. Unless you count Tropic Thunder, I don't
>>

IMAX 3D was dope. I'm glad I got to experience that. not sure if I'll ever watch it again though t b h f a m b a m

I really enjoyed it. That's all I can say. I didn't feel bothered to really pick it apart or anything. It's like watching a Nicolas Cage film, almost. Cruise is always enjoyable to watch and I have no qualms with it, only that it kind of dissipated towards the end.
>>
I heard they might do a sequel.
>>
>>63042964

Cruise has never been in a bad movie, that's all that matters.

He's the fucking king of /tv/ for that reason. Fuck off back to /pol/, asshat.

I just felt that it was dumb how the movie ended on such a happy note for no good reason. Why couldn't it end with Cruise and his buds making the ultimate sacrifice to save the human race instead of him magically resetting the day again with the alien menace gone?
>>
>>63045849
the book ends with her dying, war continues because it wasn't the final battle (not even close) and nobody knows shit.

Best part is him explaining why he paints his gear blue.

Tom Cruise is fucking based. He never did a 'bad' movie.
>>
Is this some kind of meme? I can't believe I let /tv/ trick me into watching this.

It was just a bad bad ripoff of Groundhog Day, which is fine I guess, but it was awful regardless. I was so fucking bored by the end I almost didn't finish watching. How could anyone like this movie?
>>
Doug Liman has to be one of the bland directors in Hollywood

This alongside basically everything he's ever done has been completely insipid, completely lacking in any sense of entertainment

Entertainment being the only thing Liman can even half-assedly do, his faux-politics don't even attempt to be honest, integral, or intellectual

Piece of shit movie for pieces of shit people

>Battle is the Great Redeemer. It is the fiery crucible in which true heroes are forged. The one place where all men truly share the same rank, regardless of what kind of parasitic scum they were going in.

Literally the only memorable part of this flick fám

I liked Go, Bourne Identity, and Edge of Tomorrow. What the hell did Doug Liman do to offend you so? Faux-politics? What are you even saying?

>>
>>63046136

I didn't fully understand Vanilla Sky, but even if I had, it didn't seem like it would have been a very good movie regardless.

However I could be super dense and not know what I'm talking about, and that is the one film that came to mind as possibly being bad. Even MI2 was watchable.
