>blofeld actually is oberhausen :^) is randomly related to bond
>this devalues not only blofelds character but also the excellent backstory they built in skyfall
>blofeld gets captured at the end
>no exciting chase through london just falls down and gets captured
>fingerjob only used his gimmick once
>never even attempted to poke bonds eyes out

first half was amazing and I was so hyped to finally see spectre return but we never really got to see their real power and the pointless twists really fucked any potential redemption up for a sequel

>spectre sequel will never be about blofeld trying to start ww3 to wipe out any power capable of resisting him so he can take over fully
why live?
>>
So in the new movie, SPECTRE is distinct from Quantum? I had assumed that Quantum was just the new version of SPECTRE, as Craig was the new version of Bond.
>>
>>63041740
I didn't watch quantum of solace, but they mentioned quantum being some sort of front for spectre, only one of its many tentacles
>>
>>63041670
>excellent backstory they built in skyfall
lel no that was stupid too
>>
>>63041830
how so? him being a scottish orphan seems reasonable enough
>>
>>63041798
Gotcha. Does the name still stand for SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion?
>>
>>63041957
no word, one character just randomly reveals their name and thats that
>>
>>63042001
Laaaame
>>
>>63042061
I know, I feel like mendes only really used spectre because he was running out of ideas, not because he really wanted to do something interesting with it
>>
I seriously fucking hate this movie

it killed my affection for pretty much all the craig movies now, because if I were to rewatch those, then every time something dramatic happens all I can see is cristoph waltz's stupid bingo face, grinning at being 'the author of all bond's pain'

it seriously demolished my interest for any future movie, which is not even something that Die Another Day could do
>>
>>63042253
waltz was like the best part though, that perfectly disaffected expression is great, true psychopath from the bottom up
>>
Did blowfeel pick his security solely on not being able to shoot worth a damn?
>>
>>63041670
i honestly felt that spectre was just bad, not as bad as Quantum but worse than skyfall and casino by far

the beginning was fucking just all out no shame with the product placement felt like I was watching jurassic world

the opening chase scene wasnt really that thrilling for some reason, maybe its because I find mexico city to be a really ugly location but overall didnt like it

the whole bad guy from quantum and tracking him down was nice and then the ending went pants on head retarded

every point you made was spot on, but even worse is that Blofelds stupid machine does its thing and should have fucked him but apparently does nothing and Craig can get a killing spree with no effort and miraculous blow up the facility with a single bullet
>>
>>63042405
Waltz was cool

The character was shit
>>
>>63041670
Spectre was the Rush Hour 3 of Bond movies. They really didn't give a fuck.
>>
>>63042473
the opening chase wasn't that exciting because there was nothing at stake, we didn't know what he was after
I did appreciate the nod to live and let die or whatever one it was tho

where the skyfall opening is exciting because you know exactly whats at stake

>>63042473
honestly I don't even let that kind of thing affect me anymore, it's just a bad writer or director trying to push the excitement so far you can no longer believe it. george lucas is great with that stuff, remember the molten metal machine in episode II that literally stops and waits for R2 to hack it? same shit, lucas has completely numbed me to bs like that, otherwise I would have complained yeah

The problem is that Bond doesn't even act like seeing his asshole adoptive brother, whom he had assumed dead for all these years, really mattered.

There was no emotional exchange, just the same smug exchanges he'd give to any Joe Schmo villain he'd meet.
The entire twist is literally pointless and comes off like a last minute rewrite.
And that so called emotional development he had with the woman that can't act, that was just laughable.
>I dun need to kill you, bruh. Imma jus' walk away.
And then he quits being 007 for what feels like the 10th time in Craig's tenure. Seriously, is there a single movie where he actually wants to keep his job?

If this is the caliber of script we can expect from now on, I feel really bad for the poor devil that replaces Craig.
>>
>>63043097
craig actually talked about maybe doing moonraker 2, dead serious
>>
>>63043097
I hate the fact they made him his brother the most, it's like something a 5 year old (or george lucas) would write
>the big bad is actually your brother muahahaha

it's completely unbelievable, why would a little shit envious of his half brother want to take over the world and manage to start this huge secret organization that is "everywhere" "eating dinner with your parents" etc. ? it makes no sense.

I'm still trying to come up with ways that could possibly be retconned because I can't deal with it, maybe it was just something he said to try and get under bonds skin? idk. james earl jones actually played the original line as a lie too
>>
>>63041670
>fingerjob only used his gimmick once

He's jaws, you fucking idiot.
>>
>yfw the next bond will be a suave black man
>>
IT WAS ME JAMES

THE AUTHOR OF ALL YOUR PAIN

>dindu bond fighting the good racial fight against evil whitey blofeld

sure why not
>>
>>63041670
>Dude, Austin Powers LMAO
I haven't seen this but i think it will be as shit in it's way as Die Another Day.
>>
>>63045314
I had very little problem with it other than what I said there, so I wouldn't say as bad as quantum, die another day or anything like that

just some really weird decisions that drag it down especially towards the end

I just came back from watching this movie and somehow this dude didn't really seem to be dangerous at all. He barely even showed up and then in the end he got busted. It would've been better if he escaped to be a real fucking threat in the next movie since he's supposed to be motherfucking Blofeld but I guess that won't happen. Over all Spectre was better than the piece of shit that was Skyfall but they fucking ruined my favourite James Bond villain damnit.
>>
>>63045571
it's really weird, the previous dude who was supposedly just a henchman coached to kill M had guys all over london to help him but blofeld himself just lies there and waits to get caught
>>
>>63041670
>blofeld is randomly related to bond
If by 'related to' you mean he spend 2 years living with him. Lots of Bond villains have personal connections to 007. That's not really some new thing.

>this devalues not only blofelds character but also the excellent backstory they built in skyfall
How?

>no exciting chase through london just falls down and gets captured
It was the end of the fucking movie. The entire movie is a chase around the world trying to find Blofeld.

>fingerjob only used his gimmick once
Twice. He used it on Bond's neck during the train fight.

>>never even attempted to poke bonds eyes out
See above.
>>
>>63045841
I still think Blofeld was dissappointing as a villain. They really should've kept him in the game for the next movie if there even will be one.
>>
>>63045841
because blofeld is the illuminati type guy busy trying to make the world "better" in his image, why would his motivation be petty childhood revenge? he even initially gives a much better reason for hating bond which is that he disrupted so many spectre operations in the past movies, there's 0% need for that connection other than to make a lame pun about pushing buttons

and also the point is he should have had some contingency plan and the resources to escape, with MI6 in shambles, getting caught so easily makes him seem weak, but he is the arch nemesis
>>
>>63045841
>>63046091

oh and also it stretches believability that this person who is ostensibly of germanic descent would have anything to do with a scottish orphan who just happens to be his later nemesis, again it just cheapens the whole thing, it's just mendes having some autistic fit of "character development"
