Careful restorations (aside from a few instances) that are as accurate as possible to the director's intentions while making the film and well-produced and informative features. A good amount of the time one of the supplements will be other films by that director, either shorts or a feature (both of the Kiarostami discs also have an early feature he directed). Most importantly they release things that very few people want to release or care about enough to have good transfers (Makavejev is a great example, Suzuki, Hollis Frampton, etc.).

Is the Human Condition or Ran ever coming to bluray?
I'm in Europe, so I'm restricted to the DVD's. Getting hold of a region-free blu-ray player seems to be a pain in the ass and/or ridiculously expensive. I haven't bothered with anything I can easily get on blu-ray elsewhere, but I do have some eclipse boxes:

For me it's that they add a lot of special features, they often get directors, writers, and actors to record DVD commentaries for the films years or decades after they were made. If you love commentaries like I do, they're great.

I'd post mine, but I don't have my Criterions seperate. I have them mixed in with the other Blu-rays in alphabetical order. Just got Don't Look Back and Ikiru though. Can't wait to watch them. I've seen them both, but only on DVD.
