So now that the dust has settled what were the most interesting and juicy emails leaked during the Sony hack?
>>
post some? I've only heard about a few... Rooney desperation... Amy Adams getting shit on by some director and Bale standing up for her... That's about it.

That was probably the least psychopathic thing David Russell did that day.

>sony already knew charlie sheen had AIDS
>nonwhites don't sell overseas and are a gamble
>there is literally one non-jew on top 20 payroll
>they wish arabs would just kill each other off and let israel deal with them afterwards
>sony bought the rights to the bioshock franchise
>ryan gosling was interested in playing the lead
>they thought losing that steve jobs that bombed movie was like losing citizen kane
>they let someone from the board of brown university's daughter in two spiderman movies so lynton could get his daughter to enroll there

I wonder if all studios are like this.

Not only that, Ken Levine wrote the screenplay and it's set in the modern era and the city is stuck in the past so the main character is a stranger in a strange land.

Sony is unusually bad in terms of overall dysfunction, but in terms of small films they're one of the best. Were they're a disaster is with franchises. But if you're a David O Russell or a Bennett Miller it's one of the best studios to work at.

Also, people are pretty nice overall there, working at a dictatorial bureaucratic studio Lionsgate or Disney is a fucking nightmare. Sony is very casual.

Ironically enough the best stuff is the stuff about the Interview, which was the reason for the leaks in the first place:

I liked this email where Seth took a stand against censorship:

https://wikileaks.org/sony/emails/emailid/21571

i appreciate the email amy, however, after really examining the impact of this news story, discussing it at length with Blair, Val, my publicity team and our company, we actually disagree strongly with one element of your email, and that's why i was trying to talk today.

we feel the story of censorship and trying to appease North Korea WILL in fact hurt the film critically, and thus financially.

critics are very sensitive to censorship, studio interference, and creative vision. and that's the problem. no matter what i say, the fact of the matter is that someone in your studio leaked information that now makes it seem like a compromised product.

the head melting shot described vividly in all these articles is universally received as awesome by the articles writing about them, and when these critics see a shot that is decidedly LESS awesome, regardless of what story we put out there, the truth will be apparent: it's a compromised product. that will make people gun for the movie. again, critics love nothing more than to wage a war on censorship, not to mention the obvious contradictory attitude of changing to a movie to appease a government that movie is mocking for two hours. that just makes the movie seem dumb, which again, leads to bad reviews, less money, etc.

as you said, it is common for studios to haggle over content. but that is not what this is. this is now a story of Americans changing their movie to make North Koreans happy. That is a very damning story, and a very different one.

whether you want to accept this or not, this has become a real issue that we fully believe will impact the finances of the film. people will know the truth, because it will be obvious from the finished product of the movie, and they will hate that they are seeing something that was censored for North Korea's appeasement.

if the movie doesn't get great reviews or doesn't do amazing, I now firmly believe is it because the news about this shot being leaked from sony and obviously, because the shot itself is being ruined.

If you guys are able to convince the powers that be that the shot should left in such a matter that people will not be able to say that it was toned down by North Korean pressure, then all this will go away. To us, that is the only solution that is currently on the table.

The movie will be better, and won't be fighting a stigma of censorship.

seth.

Paul Feig's Ghostbusters pitch:

Amy,
Here’s my take on it: It’s a reboot of the franchise in a world (our world) that has never actually had any legitimate contact with the ghost world. Our villain ghost is an executed murderer, a Ted Kazinski type (think Peter Dinklage) who has left behind a manifesto of how he wants to change and destroy the world. When his execution is hit by a supercharged electrical storm, he is turned into a powerful ghost able to rouse other villainous spirits from the ghost world to carry out the ever-expanding plans of his manifesto. Our four new female Ghostbusters come together in an origin story that sees them forming a team based on their diverse skills and plays with the invention and trial-and-error of their various Ghostbusting technology and techniques as they try to stop the villain and his ever growing force of evil ghosts, which is a boring way of saying that we’ll see four very different women come together and figure out in funny, scary and action-packed ways how to save New York City and the world.

Whoops, finger slipped. Sent the last email too soon. Anyway;

Id love to talk about the stuff that is in the below email I sent last night as soon as possible.
The more we all think about it, the more apparent it is that this leaked story has the potential to majorly effect the critical acclaim and therefor the finances of the move.
This movie is supposed to be controversial. That was your pitch to us amy. There's nothing controversial about a movie that has been tempered to appease the very people it's mocking.

Imagine if the story with Zero Dark Thirty had become that the government pressure the studio into changing the movie... And then they did.

I'm positive the reaction would have been horrible. That's what's happening now. What was supposed to be an indictment of a country has now been modified to placate that very county. Audiences and critics will know this is the case the second they DONT see a face melt, and they will hate it.

Please get back to me.

Part 2:

This first film will deal with this one mission and the formation of our team and the evolution of their hardware and by the end result in them forming their actual Ghostbusters business, versus starting a business mid-film like the original movie. However, I would like to keep their business as a secret government agency in a world where the government has worked hard to cover up the events of this first reboot in order to keep the public from knowing that there is now a possible reoccurring ghost threat over our country. (I’m playing with the idea that, a la Close Encounters, the government stages an evacuation of mid-town Manhattan to keep the public from knowing about the ghost threat, so that even though most of mid-town Manhattan is a mess after the final battle, they are able to explain it away as a gas explosion or something to that effect. This will keep the franchise from having to denounce the Ghostbusters in a sequel or drop them back into a world in which the public is now fully aware of ghosts. This will give the franchise much more longevity. There’s a funny dynamic we want to play with where the government eventually starts working with the Ghostbusters but has to keep denouncing them publicly, having a Cecily Strong type character always saying terrible things about them in press conferences and then apologizing to them behind the scenes, even though her public attacks on them get more and more personal. “I’m sorry, I just have to make it sound convincing.”)

Part 3:

Tonally, the movie will be a bit scarier and more hi-tech than the original and the set pieces will be bigger, while still being very funny. For example, I want in the third act to have the entire police force and army accompany the Ghostbusters to the final battle but since our villain only wants to deal with the Ghostbusters and wants to make the government look ridiculous, he possesses the entire police and army forces and makes them do a big ridiculous dance number in the middle of Fifth Avenue, thus neutralizing them (and delighting himself). I think that having our main villain be both evil and funny in the ways screws with our world as he’s trying to carry out the points of his manifesto (get revenge on everyone who slighted him, humiliate and take down Wall Street, make the United States look ridiculous to the rest of the world and eventually destroy NYC, which to him is the brain of the US), as well as have fun with the ghosts he picks to carry out various tasks (could be all dead villains and famous criminals he recruits from the ghost world and – in what I think could be a billion dollar idea – recruits the ghosts of evil beings from other parts of the universe – yes, ghost aliens! “Our world isn’t the only place in the universe with bad and dangerous beings that have died, you know. There’s a lot of bored dead monsters out there who are just looking for something to do.”)
