what are /tv/'s honest opinions on Rust Cohle?

Hated the "let's satisfy pleb America" hopeful ending, otherwise top lad.
Dishonestly and ultimately moronically written.

incredibly unfunny because it's so obvious they couldnt actually replicate the writing and make fun of it cleverly so they just spewed a bunch of buzzwords from rust

If you get the opportunity you should kill yourself.
Leftist SJW should have died like he deserved
My opinion is that you cannot bust him
A mildly interesting character whose actual depth was clouded by meaningless drivel meant to entice the unthinking.
Easily persuaded, seen-the-light-right-before-I-die, schizophrenic, coke-head
He was wrong for sleeping with Marty's wife

Care to elaborate? Most of the shit he says is just taken from shit people have already written, and he has a fairly coherent logic to his thoughts. I don't see where you get the idea that it's meaningless. Besides, his interest as a character comes more from the fact that he's saying these things within his environment, rather than from what he's actually saying. Which is not to say that the things he's saying don't mean anything, but rather it's more interesting within the show to examine how he clashes with those around him. The context of the character is more interesting than the actual content of his ramblings.
