Crocodile Dundee spittin' that real talk, f^m

>Well, you see, Aborigines don't own the land. They belong to it. It's like their mother. See those rocks? Been standing there for 600 million years. Still be there when you and I are gone. So arguing over who owns them is like two fleas arguing over who owns the dog they live on.

>Groucho next-level trolling Whitmore with the intercom & fake phone call in Day at the Races

>The Breeder's Guide book scam

>Feels fucking good, man

Those were some seriously comfy and rewatchable segments. On mobile or I would link them.

Day at the Races is my favorite Marx Brothers movie. So funny and comfy as fuck.

Duck Soup > A Night At The Opera > A Day At The Race > The Coconuts

Plebs will argue with this

This. I wish this was somehow possible to pull off nowadays.

Wisdom

They hung around for a while though. My favourite bit of trivia is that Groucho and Alice Cooper were really good buds.Groucho used to invite him over at night (he was an insomniac. He didn't drink, but he'd always buy a six-pack for Alice) to watch old movies, and he'd spend half of it saying "You see that guy? Yeah, he's gay"
>>
>>63012258
This makes me really happy
>>
>>63012482
There's some great (Graham Norton?) interview where Alice tells the story in a bit more detail, but here's the basics of it:

>>
>>63012258
>drinking a six pack and watching old movies with Groucho Marx at midnight
Fuck me that's a dream I never knew I had
>>
>>63012617
That sounds like a comfy existence.

No mention of Groucho pointing out who was gay though.
>>
>>63012931
That was a detail I remember from that interview.

I'll have to find out where it was. I think it might have been Michael Parkinson rather than Graham Norton, but that's a detail I definitely remember him mentioning. Sounded ultra-comfy the way he told it

Thanks anon. Please post it here if it turns up.

>>63006552
>Know about Marx Bros mainly from references in Looney Tunes shorts
>Never actually watched their work
>Watch this clip
>Unexpected kek joke
>Genuinely good kek joke too

Are they always this based?
>>
>>63013454
There's literally no comedy more based than the Marx brothers
>>
>>63013454
They were churning out top fucking keks when everyone else was in short pants.
You should definitely check out some more.

I wouldn't say they're necessarily alike in overall personality, but Groucho reminds me of Larry David in that he'd just...say shit. This anecdote is apocryphal, but it's too good not to believe:

>A woman with 10 (or 12 or 14 or 16 or whatever) children makes a guest appearance as a contestant on Groucho Marx’s quiz show You Bet Your Life (which started out on the radio and later found its way onto TV, running from 1947-1961)

Woman: “I have 14 children, Groucho”.

Groucho: “You have 14 children? Why do you have so many kids?”

Woman: “Because I love my husband”.

Groucho: “I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth every once in a while.”

>>63006552
>"If this country is bad now, just wait until I get through with it"

Creepy coming from a kike.
>>
>>63006552
Harpo is some next level shit. I've never seen something so beautiful done with scissors.

>>63006552
The Marx Brothers' comedies are fucking timeless and I don't understand how.

Unfortunately missing the first part.

Basically Groucho wants to bet on a horse, Chico is selling insider information booklets on who will win.

He keeps upselling Groucho until he's sold him the whole cart. Funny shit.

The Marx Bros were gods.
You know I once shot an elephant in my pajamas, how he got into my pajamas I'll never know.
