Now that the dust has settled, was it really that bad?
>>
It was a piece of shit, but Piefall and Spectre made me appreciate how much worse it could have been. Those stinkers didn't have a writers strike excuse either.
>>
>>62982634
>was it really that bad
Yes, nearly as bad as Casino Royal.
>>
>>62982634

this is my favorite bond movie.

I like watch CR and then QoS right after
>>
No. It's alright. It had a great Bond girl, a cool car chase, David Arnold did a good score, some genuinely good set peices, and Craig was good

It's not as good as Casino, but Better than skyfall

>inb4 >Craig > Bond meme guy
>>
> no Kurylenko nude scene

I dont know how you can fuck up so bad, and in a Bond film no less.
>>
>>62982726
low quality
>>
>>62982864
James Bond movies never go past pg-13
>>
>>62982634

Yes, first 30 or 40 minutes are just 3 chase-sequences strung together by a couple of lines of dialogue

In b4: every Bond movie does that
>>
I didn't think it was that bad.

Now that song? Fucking terrible. People talk shit about the Sam Smith song in Spectre but at least if you take away the vocals it still sounds like a James Bond song.

Yes, it was complete shit and made no sense. Ask the average person who saw it once what they remember about it and they'll be able to tell you like two things. Daniel Craig admitted that he and the director just made shit up on the spot.

Great Bond girls, though.
>>
>>62982866
Bondshit? I agree, worst of the flicks.
>>
>>62982817
Really wish Gemma Arterton got more screen time.
>>
>>62982936

That has never stopped them from having naked women all over the damn place, they just use camerawork to get away with it.

Basically if you have the opportunity to make that sensual slav undress, you better fucking do it. Oblivion had the same problem.
>>
>>62982999
Heh should have wished that in fucking 2010 when she had a chance
>>
>>62982994
They kind of had to. There was a strike on. I remember a ton of things about it:

>Goldfinger oil girl callback which I thought was clever
>the cold open taking place directly after Casino Royale
>the horse race shots
>Mathis getting a house for free to shut him up
>any shot with Gemma Arterton in frame
>>
It was okay.
Pretty bad at first, but like another anon said, better than Skyrimfall and Spooktre. Terrible movies.
>>
>>62982979
I kinda like it.

Not as bad as everyone made it out to be, but the hyperactive editing ruined it.

It did have Camille, though, and she was great. One of the few Bond girls with some degree of depth. Deserves her own spinoff, or at least a return.

>I keep thinking... he's dead. Now what?

>Do you think they'll be able to sleep now?

>They kind of had to. There was a strike on. I remember a ton of things about it.

The reasoning behind it is irrelevant. By now they've admitted they rushed it because of the writer's strike. That doesn't mean it's not shit.

Is the whole "Bond's getting old" thing even mentioned in Spectre?
I felt kinda bummed out he's suddenly too old after only two films.
>>
>>62982634

statistically it was pretty shit
>>
History will remember the Craig bond films as a truly regrettable period for the franchise.
>>
>>62983428
And yet it was better than the next two.
>>
>>62983636
It wasn't.
>>
>>62983497
>market Craig as 'the rookie' and 'the youngest Bond' in Casino Royale
>he's a supposed geriatric only two movies later

I thought Skyfall was pretty solid but they should not have gone with this angle
>>
>>62983756

Craig was 45 in Skyfall. It's kinda realistic
>>
Look, at the end of the day the "Bond Series" is one of those franchises that are filled with token scenes, they are exactly the same every film and are films that cater to simple minded film watchers.

What the fuck is wrong with simple, well made action films?

I liked it. Still do. My one big gripe is that a lot of critical exposition in the second act is almost impossible to hear clearly. I missed it entirely in the theater and have to switch on the subs on the blu-ray. Why the fuck didn't they ADR it? Also the aerial battle near the end was badly staged and edited and the villain was kind of a boring faggot. Other than these bitching points it worked for me.

When I think of a bad Bond film, I think of License to Kill, and I *liked* Timothy Dalton and think he deserved a longer run in the role.

>bad guy henchman ded again
>girl succumbs to bond charm
>bad guy henchman not ded again

No.

It had bad villains. The water company guy was bland and we have one generic fat/chubby mustached South American dictator wannabe.

Laughable stakes (muh Bolivian water, muh generic vengance plots) and mediocre setting of the finale with that weird building makes this a very poorly made Bond movie.
>>
>>62984229
I remember pre-modernized bond, still the best bond, but the fact that there hasn't been a good bond film since 1995 seriously effects my judgment of this dead horse franchise

Stop.

TND Is underrated af, it just gets lumped in with the bad Brosnan bonds.

The bonds like Dalton's, FYEO, OHMSS , and the first two connery's broke the formula in a good way
