Kick it over while it's rolling

Get behind it, slide a sheet of metal between the floor and shield, lift up to create a gap, and then either drop a grenade in or shoot it in the back.

Why didn't the empire use both droids and Stormtroopers? Sure most of the droids were useless, but the Super Battle Droids and the droidekas would be really useful, not to mention they're not people, so they could be used as a very massive cannon fodder

>>
>>62952722
human troops turned out to be cheaper than droids

this makes sense so long as you forget it was a trade federation that built the droid army in the first place, so it's unlikely they did the more costly option of building droids over hiring people especially considering that the droids were not better than trained solders
>>
>>62952712
>Literally the only thing that can stop jedi.

Thermal detonators can pass through the shield if they are rolled slow enough not to be repulsed by it.
>>

I assumed the trade federation had difficulty ammassing loyal support even from mercenaries, Droids offer an army that unquestionably follows orders and keeps secrets safe

>Droids offer an army that unquestionably follows orders and keeps secrets safe
but they are weak
plus I'd imagine they can be hacked or taken control of some how. not sure if hacking and related things even exist in the SW universe, but it seems logical to assume that there is some way the droids are being controlled by the Trade Fed. and thus others could use those means to take control over the droids from the TF

surely if they had the money they could hire some mercs, surely they have support/power over their local worlds and can amass troops from them.
then again the droids probably were an easier and some what effective plan so
>>
>>62953062
>not sure if hacking and related things even exist in the SW universe
Splicing is the term for it, but it's never really explored. It doesn't seem to be like how we see hackers, but its pretty similar.
>>
>>62952361

i assume the shield is not unbreakable and shooting it will eventually knock it out

it's threat to jedi is that blasters are so uncivilized and i assume the massive rate of fire of their weapons makes deflecting their shots for longer periods risky due to the likelihood of making a mistake
>>
>>62952361

This was always fun in the (tabletop) role-playing games.

It's strange how little it was explored in the films. Especially since they had some interesting ideas about AI and computers (actually "talking" to each other, with different dialects and such).

Those things were mean. If I remember correctly that kid hopped in a spaceship and took a few out using ships weapons while on the ground.

Not that there is any explanation in star wars, but enough kinetic impacts will wear the sheilds down. Or something that can penetrate it. Slow projectile maybe.

>>
I can still remember their sound from the old Lego games...

Double jump, stab, slice
>>
>>62953656
They said their shields were down in that scene, and to "intensify forward firepower", presumably so that a tiny one man fighter does not take down the largest empire capital ship
>>
>>62952722
Lore has explained this by saying the empire also discriminated against droids in addition to non humans. The real reason is Lucas didn't want it and it was too expensive to have cool robots in the originals

In deeper eu lore the empire does have droid tanks, assassins, and star fighters though
>>
Get into melee range in front of them and stab them with the wrist knife, their shots with simply skim past your waist.
>>
>>62953688
Loved those games so much. Was a great humorous take on the universe
>>
>>62953656
Watch the scene again. We see an A-Wing and an X-Wing destroy the shield generator and a lieutenant on the bridge says "SIR! WE LOST OUR BRIDGE DEFLECTOR!"

Then Piett says "INTENSIFY THE FORWARD BATTERY I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO GET THROUGH"

but it was too late

I think you see some fighting in the background of some scenes, but usually they don't have their shields turn on for some reason.
>>
>>62953656

Why do you need windows in a warship? It's not like you can't have cameras.
>>
In Star Wars Battlefront the secret is to get very close where their mobility is bad and weather down their shields. In fact they have a tiny little blind spot right in front of them where their blasters can't reach.

Also in AOTC it looked like the clone troopers huge fuck off rifles could kill them.

well, assuming that the windows use some kinda space steel-glass and not 2mm picture frame glass, then the big difference is simplicity.
In war, you want things simple. The simplier things are, the harder they are to break, cheaper they are to make enmass and the longer they last. Cameras are complex and can malfunction. They can be hacked, they can be disabled. Windows can't be hacked, are harder to disable and rarely malfunction.
>>
>>62954855
Most of the Clones were already made by the "bad guys" when the "good guys" took control of them.
>>
>>62954594

Because Star Wars's tactics are inspired by the Age of Sail and WW2 dogfights. If they were realistic, ships would fight so far away from each other that you would need telescopes.

What were they going to do? The Republic had no army at the time of TPM and the CIS were already starting to form up with its own army. Each planet couldn't manage to pull off a victory with just Jedi and militia, like Naboo did. Why waste a huge resource like the Clone army because of muh feels?
>>
>>62955401
Not for you, faggot.
>>
>>62955046
They're clones of a bounty hunter genetically modified to be top-line soldiers, even so far as to age quickly. Even if they were to be free, they would gravitate towards warfare-type deals and cause problems otherwise subverted with a goal and a command structure. Think krogan, mandalorian or vikings.
>>
fuck these things, they're a pain in the fucking ass to kill

That bit was awful, you could see how much the betrayal hurt him. He could have killed them easily being a jedi master with extra brain power but his heart wasn't in it, he couldn't kill his former friends. RIP Longhead.

it's from The Clone Wars, m8, it's animated.

There's another episode where Obi-Wan actually puts his hand through the droideka's shieldand uses his light saber to kill it.

True. This is because Sheev knew the Vong were on their way and were terrified of droids.
