Yeah, but this movie was more specific to white, southern Californian suburbs. Nowadays these suburbs are really diverse. I kinda liken white to conforming to a certain code of conduct. Anyone who doesn't is considered an outsider and is an undesirable. These are just my observations. They could have no basis in reality.

I have high functioning autism. I know it's seen as a general meme insult on 4chan, but it's a real thing. The word idiot used to be an actual medical classification and now it's used as an insult. The funny thing is, there are autists that live more fulfilling lives than most of the people on this board. On /pol/ they make fun of any non-whites, and I guarantee you lots of minorities are happier and more successful than most /pol/tards. Cue the inevitable comment "did you just compare being autistic to being black, wow you really are an autist". I'm so tired of these bullshit bait arguments on 4chan and the Internet in general, how people purposely twist each other's words.
Edward scissorhands is a great movie. You can disagree with me if you like; it means you have a different opinion, not that you're dumb. Is Tim Burton a hack? Sort of, but I'm willing to separate the art from the artist. There are some layers to this movie, and it is good.

I honestly think it's a great movie about Southern California. I never even considered the autistic aspect of it. I feel like Burton didn't have that in mind but I guess it can be relevant to people who experience life the way Edward did.

There's a lot of actual people who wrote the mental health manuals(DSMs) which exist to bill insurance.
They need to bill insurance because the person wants help.
The person wants help because something is wrong.
It can just be their personality or circumstances or genetics, and not an actual disorder but they still want the help. The name is going to change because you can have autism and range from being a mouth spewing 24/7 care project tardking to a actuary or business mogul.
I'm sure there's plenty of social outcasts who got the label or took it themselves because they're crazy. So what do you suggest we call these people, how should we sort the autists from the normals, the crazy into categories?
