We forgive lucas because he was behind the best ideas of his 80s movies while Kasdan was just an idea bouncer and speilberg was afraid to be ballsey (look at the scripts of the 3 talking over raiders). he asked kasdan to help with the prequels but he didnt. also becuase his love life fucked him up

If I'm not mistaken, all of the Hobbit films and Star Wars prequels made good money, even if critics and fans disliked them. If a movie fails creatively AND financially, the failure is not forgiven. You can usually get away with one or the other, though.

All three SW prequels were bad and people still can't get over it. Even a decade after the last movie came out.
Well, Jackson didn't fuck up nearly as bad. First Hobbit is actually pretty comfy and I'd say still pretty good. Second movie is mediocre at best and the third one is mostly terrible.

Jackson can at least admit he did a terrible job, didn't know what he was doing, and was mostly doing it out of obligation to please the studio.
Lucas still genuinely believes that the OT was good in spite of all the other individuals who made them good. He also genuinely believes that the PT are fantastic films.
The Hobbit films were just extremely pointless and forgetable. The PT were easily some of the worst films ever made, when any minute level of competence could have assured that not to be the case. If the PT were just simply mediocre films like the Hobbit films were, the hatred might not be quite as intense.

Instead of two good movies, there are three bad ones with filler and invented characters. Also, instead of employing a healthy mix of CGI and practical, Jackson went full Lucas and CGI'd the hell out of everything.
That gives you two problems:
1: Because of the quantity of the CGI, you have to render more in a short time of space. To spare time, the quality of the CGI is sacrificed.
2: Closeup shots that are better done by practical effects, are now done with CGI wich is comprimised by problem number 1 and thus, looks horrible and dates quickly.
Then there's the aspect of Jackson trying to force a LOTR-styled epic out of a more light hearted book then the LOTR books are. It Could've worked if you retained the light hearted nature for the first movie and have a LOTR-styled epic for the second movie (The battle does indeed give you this vibe).
