Blade Runner is pretty overrated. So are The Thing and Akira and most other big 80's sci-fi things. 80's is when Hollywood completed its metamorphosis into the soulless, culture destroying beast that we all hate. Most of my favourite 80's things are from the front or back of the decade and feel more 70's or 90's like. 80's did give us prime Michael Mann though, got to acknowledge that.

Unlike most people, I likes the early 80's look and feel of women. Basically 1980 to 1983. Bits of the 70's that were starting to assert what we would identify with the 80's (big frizzy hair and the leather/suede fashions).
