Looking at a computer screen doesn't permanently damage your eyes. You can't just "give" yourself vision conditions like nearsightedness, it would have happened regardless

No, I'm saying that if your vision has progressively gone to shit, it is likely unrelated to your computer.
Looking at a computer too long can strain your eyes and perhaps give you a headache, but it won't cause you to need glasses

worst problem with computer screen is that your eye muscles get fucked becasue they don't spend time focusing, just looking at the same distance for possibly hours. take breaks every 20 min and look at something in the distance and make the eyes focus for a bit.

Look it up. Any serious, permanent vision issues like myopia won't happen to you unless it's an underlying condition.
Obviously your eye doctor is going to tell you to take it easy, because eye strain is no doubt real. The point I'm trying to make is that it's extremely unlikely that a person with 20/20 will end up needing glasses just because he uses a computer a lot. That's ridiculous
