Regardless of how good or bad it is, /tv/ will be a non-stop swamp of BLUNDER OF THE MILLENNIUM JEW JEW ABRAMS KEKING FANBOYS WITH THE BBC WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE FORCE AWAKENS TOPPED TPM FOR WORST STAR WARS EVER ITS OVER DISNEY IS FINISHED YOU'RE A BIG FLOP FOR YOU well into January. Expect tons of threads with pictures of George looking smug with the caption "Miss me already?" and lacklustre attempts to turn some minute oddity in the film into the next TDKR plane scene.
Way I see it the movie will most likely be a solid 7/10, about as good as Return of the Jedi with some wonky parts and some scenes that truly recreate the brilliance of the original trilogy but nothing truly groundbreaking in its own right. Abrams is doing everything that the fanboys would want the new director of the franchise to do-hire all the old crew back, get John Williams on score, use old Ralph Mcquarrie concept art as a basis for new designs, bring practical effects and Jim Hensen style puppets back to the forefront. But it wont be the lightning in the bottle the original was, and it wont be the steaming heap of shit the original trilogy was, and as a result /tv/ will be forced to exaggerate all its flaws in order to turn into proper shitposting material.
