What Dreams May Come
Inland Empire
Gummo
apocalypse now
Queer Dicks 2
>>62755076
Hellraiser 2
Ghost doesn't depict hell directly, but the scenes where the two villains are dragged to hell right after their deaths are simply horrifying, take a look if you haven't seen the movie.

You win the thread.
>>62755811
how the fuck was that even scary
>>62755914
You wouldn't be afraid if you just died and were dragged to hell by a bunch of wailing shadows? Not even the shock of turning around and seeing your own dead body? Pretty scary scenario to me. That's true helpless there.
>>62755993
I guess the idea is off putting
The presentation was hammy though
>>62756044
It's 1990, essentially 80s cinema still, a bit silly at times but Ghost is a genuinely great movie if you've never seen it. Patrick Swayze at the top his game.
>>62755076
Twilight Zone; A Nice Place to Visit
I like the idea that people get their own little sandbox hell, with their own demon escort who enjoys his job.
>>62756115
That scene where he breaks down Whoopi Goldberg by singing Henery the VIII over and over again fucking slays me.
>>62755076
As Above So Below, I think, has been my favorite but more because of the transition and not the setting.
>>62756479
I was SUPER fucking disappointed when they turned back around and didn't go ''deeper'' to emerge on the other side. Movie poster had me expecting that.
Lost potential

There was only so far they could take it before ending in some absurd visual CG shitfest. The tension built alright and needed an end.

Although SH's otherworld is not Hell by definition, I like that someone here decided to post it.
In one of the games, the otherworld takes on a different approach to how it looks, instead of blood and rust everywhere, the world freezes over completely, with several inches thick of ice over pretty much everything except you. Really comfy, if you ask me.
>>62755076
why is hell a destroyed urban landscape with a bunch of burnt out cars
what was hell like before the 20th century then?
>>62758571
i wonder if that hell in constantine has changed over the years, or if its different for everyone. I guess if you killed yourself in the middle ages, hell wouldn't have cars, would it?

This. I much preferred it when the Cenobites were simply servants of the Labyrinth and Leviathan, rather than being actual evil demons. In the original Clive Barker story, they really were beings of pleasure who were so desensitized that they resorted to masochism to get any sort of feeling. They even warn Frank that he may not know what he's really getting into.
>>62760385
Actually I can't remember, do they warn Frank in the movie too?
>>62759843
oh, fuck. Wasn't prepared.

This. Specifically the upside-down gothic cathedral.
Idiocracy.
>>62756050
Oh baby.
>>62759320
it was like it was in "reality"
that kind of depiction refers to the parallel reality underlying "our" reality. hell happens simultaneously as we live.
If I may break the rules a little, Hell in the comics Sandman and Lucifer is interesting. It's a biblical depiction, but it's also a place of ultimate free will. You only go there if you feel you deserve it and can technically walk out anytime you want.
