They didn't force it.
They had Sheldon and Leonard cast for 6 years before they were satisfied with the scripts and co-stars...
That kind of patience and foresight pays off
It also helps that they use a live studio audience instead of a laughtrack. The buzz the actors get from performing live is palpable and the timing cannot be replicated.
They don't cheat on any of their science and they have developed characters who actually behave like humans instead of plot devices.
I admit the latest season has been the weakest, but once they put Shamy back together, it'll probably balance out and return to status quo.
It's my favorite blu-rays, too, because they're so loaded with special features. The cast actually enjoys eachother's company off screen, too, making the charisma stand out during tapings.

The show was trash before they introduced all the female stars. I don't know about you but I really don't care about stories based on pathetic nerd culture, so once they had some strong, relatable female leads in it I was all on-board.
Watching these womyn turn those boys into respectable men by destroying all joy in their lives and making them slaves to pussy really gets me invested in the deep story lines.

It's a by-the-numbers sitcom with attractive women and male characters who act as self-inserts for 20somethings.
It has memes (zimbabwe) and pop-culture references.
The plot isn't complicated and there's little over-arcing storyline. You can walk in on any episode and 'get it'.
It's all the stuff that made Friends successful, albeit at a lower quality, with less originality, and less breadth of content.
