magic lantern made their dslrs be able to record in raw but they dont even include it as a feature in the 1Dx cause they want to protect their shitty cinema line up and even then only the expensive ones can do RAW

they're insanely expensive, so either the thieves are going to sell it to a production company at a discount or they're going to sell it to some random indie kids for way below market price. the people who had their shit stolen will probably send a notice out to local peers as well, so 1) the production companies will most likely say no and call the police if some guy in an alley is trying to sell them equipment worth tens of thousands and 2) the indie kids can't be seen anywhere with the camera or they're fucked and they probably can't show the footage anywhere or they'll eventually get sniffed out.
