Reminder that Tasha Yar had the best potential. The writing and acting was unanimously bad in the first season, but Denise Crosby's acting seemed to dramatically improve by the time her character was killed off.
With Tasha alive Troi's could have been phased out as the character didn't belong on the bridge. The writers realized Troi was useless but needed a female character on the bridge. On top of that, Denise Crosby had a nicer tits and a better ass than Marina Sirtis.
