The opening scene was great, well done and realistic.

Why did you think that? I think all the firefights were well done. Sure the movie isn't exactly fully realistic, but it is a movie. There has to be concessions made.
I think the parts with the paratroopers were especially great. The final battle was fantastic too.
Opening is still my favorite war-scene in any movie by far.
