Sinister is a 10/10 when it was just Ethan Hawk finding creepy ass movies. As soon as it got supernatural with the slo-mo ghost kids the movie becomes a 1/10. Seriously, one of the biggest drops in quality in a horror movie ever. Worse drop than Begotten after the first 10 minutes.

George Lucas is the master of oversimplification. All the characters in Star Wars are terribly black and white and not a single one even remotely leans towards the second dimension. The cheap trick to use plain text as exposition for the upcoming events is a slap in the face of cinema. The entire purpose of film is to convey stories through dialogue and images.Lucas doesn't get that.His writing skills are pre-school.

Pseudo nerds will have you believing that george lucas ruined this movie that was once so great even though they probably didnt even see the original version until after the new ones came out. Let's see, for an adventure, the pacing is mostly off, with lots of periods where nothing happens, and even the action scenes are nothing special. The plot also seems fairly contrived. Say, since this is the final battle between good and evil and all that, the emperor's preparations seem fairly rushed. You'd expect more care to have been taken in keeping that shield intact, for example. Also, since his grand scheme is to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side of the force, isn't he trying to kill him too soon after Luke offers some resistance?

also i feel like this maybe this star wars movie might just fall flat? i like star trek 09 and always thought that it felt like a star wars movie. kasdan and all the ralph mcquarrie stuff gives me hope it wont feel like fan fiction, but ive not been impressed by daisy ridley so far. i just hate movies that almost get there (like godzilla, which had bryan cranston) but ultimately fall short

This is what I'm hoping for along with all the planned Star Wars Cinematic Universe they've got ready. It's going to make some serious money though even if the film turns out to be incredibly shitty but will it be horrible enough to the point Disney will shelve the ideas and forget about them?

Yes this happens all of the time and indicates absolutely nothing as far as the quality.
They're talking about rewriting scenes on set which is pretty much the norm with productions of this size today. Calling it a day and going home for rewrites and coming back the next day involves completely fucking the schedules of like 300 people now that movies switch locations so much and have 20 or 30 MASSIVE sets instead of just two or three. During the Hobbit they were coming to the set with absolutely nothing and PJ was essentially making it up as he went along.
Man how fucking fun is this show. I'm surprised how well it's been going. I thought it would be all downhill after the Raimi pilot.
