Foreplay.
How come Ben Kingsley is able to play racial characters and win awards, but if any other white actor does it, there are riots and people tell us that we might as well reinstate slavery?
Because he's simply not white

Is Silent Hill a good film?
>>66933563
in the same way that most movies that take from a source material instead of being original are inherently reductionist in their storyline, this movie suffers as well.
They did a bad job introducing pyramid head and the cult, while also technically basing the movie off of the first game that had a male protagonist.
I did enjoy it though, some parts were legitimately creepy, like during the first air raid siren.
>>66933628
that being said, it's in fact one of the best horror movies of this century
personaly i think it's as good as an video game adaptation can be
>>66933690
you can't be serious, the story was a jumbled mess and it lacks any depth that the games may have had.

IT only took two fucking sentences to make things more interesting lore wise. Why are writers so lazy?
more quips
less action

Is this a bullshit-free version of the Walking Dead?
>>66932965
No, it's nothing like Walking Dead. It's pretty good though, don't listen to the fags that say episode 1 is the best cuz they're full of it, the only "bad" episodes are 4 and 5 which grind things to a halt.
Last 3 episodes are fucking incredible.
>>66932965
>Evil Dead
>in even the same league as The Walking Dead
They're not even zombies in Evil Dead, they're demons possessing the dead.
I wouldn't compare it to Walking Dead at all. But it's worth a watch. You might enjoy it a lot, specially if you're already familiar with the ED movies.
Who else here /loves/ the original Ghostbusters?

Why is it so hard to make a good video game movie /tv/?
We've had tons of capeshit movies that range from bad, average, to great. But there's never been a great video game movie
>>66932772
becouse vidya is at the same level as anime
>>66932826
And that means what, exactly?
>>66932772
Because video games are not art, and cannot be made into art.
At the most they can be adapted into a cheap cash grab, but even then they won't be successful unless some sex worker they convinced to be an actress is in it like Resident Evil.
This Civil War trailer did a great job of illustrating how the majority of /tv/ knows nothing about the inner-workings of filmmaking and just regurgitate pessimistic opinions they read from some pseudo-intellectual blogpost.

>h-hey everyone
Goddamnit, looks like we're going 0/3. We're never getting a good Peter Parker.

What did they name the team?
>>66932465
"Say That Again?" is a weird name for a superhero team, but Fox is always taking risks so I'm excited for the sequel.
>>66932465
I really hope he plays Han Solo in the Disney movie!!
>>66933218
Me too!! He's sooo cute lol!!!! XD
Whenever someone mentions Ryan Renolds, I immediately think of this underrated masterpiece that he was in.
>>66932431
jesus christ the way the ending went honestly has to be one of the worst ways to die
>>66932559
;_; Why did have to witness it
>>66932559
yeah no fucking shit! I get the director's intention, to not make it a same old "hero is stuck, hero gets saved" but still this movie is so nightmarish and the ending too left such an impact on me.
How were so many monsters created in the 80's (we'll count 1978 as the cultural beginning of the 80's, because London Calling, The Cars, and Van Halen were very 80's)??

More like the 70's. Star Wars, Encounters of the 3rd kind and Jaws renewed the scifi/fantasy/horror blockbuster trend.
