nostalgia hitting me hard. im valuing it more after im gone, its been 2 months now. at the time i thought it was nice and all but now i think i have to come back in the next 4 years. im 18, first solo trip, 1 month with 1k

And their street names are GOAT. Pic related is Perfect Love Square. According to legend, Louis the ?th of France stayed a night in Genova, got drunk and danced with a girl, called Tommasina according to the legend. The king of France left the city the next day, having to fight the fucking Spanish and shit in southern Italy and generally forgetting Tommasina in every way.
Tommasina, poverina, however, was smitten with the king. She lived on the small piazzetta (seriously, it's small and there's nothing to see there), and every day waited longingly for her king to return. Her mother got fed up, and told her the king was dead (not strictly true at the time) so Tommasina would marry and get on with her life.
Tommasina, poverina, withered away, not eating out of grief and passing away shortly after. The small square on which she lived was called Piazza dello Amor Perfetto after her dedication to the French king.
Idiotic way to die, but hey.
