>>1080827
nice call, the whole island is gorgeous, I was there for three days and rented an atv and just explored all over the place. my pic is from a restaurant in one of the little inlets
A 6 minute drive from my house.

Canadafag here.
If you drive inlands in BC, British Colombia, that view is pretty much everywhere. In terms of places to go in BC for sightseeing, I'd say visit some of the cities (New Westminster, Victoria, Vancouver), and also go see Squamish/Whistler. If you drive up from Vancouver to Squamish, you'll see a lot of that kind of view, albeit with much more sea.
If you go to the Sunshine Coast on Victoria Island, then you'll also see that kind of stuff.
Driving the Coquihalla Highway inlands you'll see lots of rolling hills, and eventually come into our interior where we have our own minidesert, but it still has that kind of mountain range.

Banff, Canada

this little church and its graveyard on the coast of Montenegro, in a quiet little bay on a sunny August afternoon.
>>1080914
There's a great driving loop from Vancouver, up to Pemberton, into the mountains and Joffre Lakes/glaciers, then down into the desert and Lillooet/Lytton, then back down through Yale and Hope. Lots of cool and contrasting terrain, very pretty. You can do it in a day, or camp (for free) near Lillooet at a BC Hydro run campsite called Seton Lake.

As soon as I posted that photo I realised I'd fucked up - the lake in that pic is actually in BC in Mount Robson Provincial Park (halfway on the hiking route to Berg Lake I think), not Jasper. It's in my Jasper photo album because we did a day trip there, and because that album is pretty much just full of lakes and mountains, I picked the nicest looking one. The Canadian Rockies in general are just beautiful though - whether it's Jasper, Banff, or any of the other provincial parks. Jasper was my favourite because it wasn't quite as touristy as Banff, but is still an absolute dream for people who love the outdoors.
>>1080899
Wow that really is gorgeous
Longyearbyen, Svalbard from above
>>1081091
Wow, that's my favourite so far (although I've enjoyed looking at and appreciate all contributions). There's something about it that's just so bleak yet powerful - it really feels like the edge of the world from that photo.
Kenai Fjords National Park.
Or Alaska in general desu
Glacier National Park, Montana
>>1080914
In BC, I've never heard of it happening. We're North, but not that North. You'll need to go up to Yukon, Northwest Territories or nunavut to go there, or even Scandinavia.
To be honest, I was looking for where to go to find the Aurora Borealis, but didn't get much help.
Italy glacier, Tierra del Fuego, Chile
It was awesome through Canal Beagle
>>1080899
Where is this??
Russia, Vladimir

You had me so frustrated trying to figure out how this could be in Jasper with Mt rob in the background. Did you finish the berg trail? Heres whats at the top
>>1083536
So if I complete the climb I'll get a woman ?
>>1083545
nah unfortunately there is a strict BYOW policy
>>1080799
Beach by Jökulsárlón in Iceland.. The Glacial bay empties into the sea, and the beach was littered with ice as shown, really spectacular stark beauty. The bay itself was also amazing, but the pictures I took there are disappointing...
>>1083570
Yellowstone in the winter is also up near the top.
>>1083536
Yeah my bad, I was just flicking through my Candian Rockies folder and mistook this one for one of my Jasper pics. I wish I'd been able to spend enough time there to be able to distinguish one mountain and lake from another at a glance, but unfortunately I've not been able to yet. Such a beautiful palce though.
I think we were talking about this in another thread. I was based in Jasper for most of my time, so we just did this trail briefly on an afternoon trip. We got to Kinney Lake (the lake in my picture, about 5km in if I remember correctly) then headed back. I'd love to explore the area more, but unfortunately I don't know the next time I'll be in Canada.

Trolltunga
Odda, Norway
Japan in general.
Gonna post few photos.
>>1083638
Probably the best view was out of bus' window to Shirakawa.
All clouds very low, driving between mountains. Pic related is my only photo (I know it's shit). I was too busy admiring the view.
>>1083640
Not sure where. Probably somewhere between Suwa and Tokyo.
>>1083570
I've been there too, easily my favorite place/picture
>>1083641
last one

Damn I wish I'd been able to spend more time in Iceland. I stayed in Reykjavik for a couple of days stopover on my way to Canada, but stayed in the city. If I'd realised there was so much natural beauty on the island maybe I'd have saved up more money and tried to spend a week there and do the ring-road trip somehow. Ahh well, hopefully there will be other opportunities.
>>1083644
Thanks, I like that last one particularly.
And thanks to all contributors to this thread, giving me some good travel inspiration, which I definitely needed.
This place was amazing, actually remind me of dreams i had as a child.
>>1083647

Podragu, Făgăraș mountains, Romania.

It looks like Ireland and New Zealand had a baby, and named it that exact place. Very nice.

>>1084314
>>1084372
Well, that's awkward.
>>1084237
Was that near Maligne Lake? The whole area was closed off for half a week while I was there due to forest fires, drove through it later on and it looked post-apocalyptic. Beautiful, but in a different way.
>>1084395
Good eye. Yes it was at Medicine Lake. I flew over a few weeks later
>>1084313
Probably a bit late but where abouts is it, from the area and know Ive seen it before but cant place it exactly
>>1084744
Grand Tetons Wy. Had the whole park to myself basically on a tuesday morning last january.
I guess I'd probably say Jammu and Kashmir in India. Not my all-time favorite destination, by any means, but definitely one of the most beautiful I've been.
