I studied abroad in Florence. Absolute best decision I've ever made.
Besides location, make sure the university you choose has a good program. I chose a small private school in Arkansas because their program had tons of free travel and class field trips. Our first class trip was for 7 nights through southern Italy and Sicily. Each month we would have classes for 15 - 20 days then have free travel for 5 days.
