You can take motorcycles abroad but there are different regulations in each country when it comes to vehicles so make sure you know what you're doing before. For example, going from Canada to the US there are no issues, you just drive across the border. Going from the US to Mexico however means you have to buy motorbike insurance at the border. You won't have any issues riding across the EU. In SEA you will have a hard time at the borders depending which country you try to enter and where your bike is from.

Generally long distance rides through many countries involve many stops at borders for random reasons.
