Eh, I have a girlfriend so im indifferent; If im single by then..=D

Thanks.
How is the drinking culture there?
Do a lot of people drink?
>I know you cant be drunk in public
Whats the ratio between UAE nationals to people who just work there?
Whats the crime rate like? (is it safe to walk around at midnight and on)
How is the food over there?

I wandered around in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi on my own pretty late and never felt unsafe - one of the plusses of being somewhere with a pretty hardcore justice system.

If you are in another country, let alone continent. You are single. The only exception is if you are ot going out, basicalyy stay in, play video games, and Skype your girl. But if you go out and get ina social circle you wil literally stumble into pussy. Especially with the way you look and the high number of single female SEA expats, who are also big Koreaboos. You will even have hookers trying to date you/fuck you for free. The only people in relationships I have seen not end up fucking someone there has been people that were there short term, an even they were tempted. And have seen even more short term people succumb. I literally only met one guy who was there for months and did not fuck around and he did just as I described above. Video games, internet, and Skype.

>How is the drinking culture there?
Pretty big actually. You won't find alcohol at your typical restaurant, but restaurants inside hotels, and night clubs inside hotels are prevalent. A lot of people drink. Being drunk in public means don't be falling down drunk in public. Also there are a lot of house parties among expats as well.
>Whats the ratio between UAE nationals to people who just work there?

Probably about 4 expats for every one Emirati.
>Whats the crime rate like? (is it safe to walk around at midnight and on) Yes it is. The only exception is if you're a woman. Especially an Asian, and to a lesser extent African, and even lesser extent white (though it's all on the table). This why I asked if you were female. You might be subject to a bit of the rapeage. Not even by locals, but it's usually tourists/visitors from Saudi Arabia.

>How is the food over there?
Awesome. Of course you have all the international chains and high class restaurants. But the gem is all of the authentic ethnic food. Due to the high expat population, you have great and cheap Indian, Filipino, Thai, Levant, African, and Mediterranean Cuisine, among others.

Wait, how prominent are hookers over there? I thought since its a heavily religious country, hookers were very rare.

Ah okay, I was worried about the smell of alcohol alerting people. But I guess as long as you arent full blown retarded drunk youre okay.

Holy shit there's a lot of expats..

Food sounds wonderful.

Thanks for all the help anon!

And these are just the ones bold enough to lit online. Many more trolling the night clubs (and cheaper too. Prices higher online) . There are clubs you'll walk in and think you are in China, Russia, Morroco, Thailand, Ethiopia, or the Phillipines.

Don't get lulled by the lax atmosphere. It is still a Muslim country. Watch public displays of affection (though getting road head in Bahrain was quite a thrill). Also don't get into any conflicts with the Emiratis, it will automatically be your fault. Same with car accidents and what not. Pay attention to the rules during Ramadan and follow them in public. Things get stricter during that time. A lot of expats use this period to visit home or Thailand to avoid the nonsense. Hell, these days a lot of Arabs/Muslims go to Thailand during Ramadan. Tickets are cheap.

Dubai is like muslim Vegas. Actually, Vegas seems pretty tame to it. Americans can get drunk, gamble, do drugs and get hookers around every major city. There's one billion muslims living in Sharia law. The rich ones get to go to Dubai and live it up.

This article is kind of unrelated, but it does a good job explaining islamic society.

This guy >>1051509 is right, don't mess around in public.

It's like how America was more religious in the 1800s, but there were more brothels and opium dens then.

That article is very related to why Saudis are the main proponents of bad behavior and vice in the more liberal GCC countries like U.A.E., even as they turn their nose up and condemn those same countries when back in K.S.A. If they weren't so restricted in KSA they wouldn't act out as much when abroad.
