First things first, this is a run-on sentence. that period at the end of the quotation should be a comma. Although, that structure is pretty weird when used with multiple sentences of dialogue, so I'd move it to earlier in the quotation. Also, see that first sentence? The one split by a comma? That comma should be a period or a semicolon. And, finally, there should be a comma splitting up the last sentence. (Or you could move the "After...planning" phrase to the end of the sentence, but that would sound weird.)

Okay, that fixes the grammar issue, but it still leaves a fundamental problem: These aren't natural things to think, at least in the sense that people think with words. It'd be perfectly acceptable to just describe this using... whatever the opposite of dialogue is. Normal descriptive text.
