I'm sure she has something special planned."

just write an appropriate length for the story's natural progression. don't throw a flagpole out into the treeline and stretch things out until you get there. it makes each individual part/chapter/whatever a whole lot interesting.

As per the direction its headed, well, while I meant for this to start as a joke , giving Lucy a vampire boyfriend but with a twist.
Instead of the suave sexy vampires she knows of, I gave her a malkavian from vampire the masquerade, a type of vampire known for being insane, having odd ways of speaking, and other things that detract from their sex appeal. I just happened to start playing through a videogame adaption of the game, which made me decide to give the fic a plot beyond 'Lucy is exasperated by her cute but cacophonic bloodsucking abomination boyfriend'
