Zig Zag is a fucking Bitch
She was her father's fuck toy as a kid and teenager
She was a street whore
And now she runs her own pornstudio
Death by AIDS when?
furry porn sucked until 2013 for the most part

Damn kids get off my lawn
>>3663878
So what you want is a furry thread without MLP.
>>3663878
>2008 art is now considered old
Fuck this shit. Time shouldn't pass this quickly.
>>3664739
Wouldn't say that it sucked, if anything it was often better on anatomical level, but furry art sure has gone through a pretty dramatic change during the last 5 years or so,
I've noticed that where as older art showed a lot more physique and somewhat realistic anatomy, nowadays art is all about big round shapes.
For example thick women and big asses are now all over the place, regardless if the characters are /fit/ or not, they still have those relatively soft shapes.
Also these soft shapes are very forgiving when it comes to anatomy, so the mistakes in art don't seem nearly as dramatic as they used to.
>>3666993
that's the kind of stuff that get's me off
that's how I became a furry
>>3663878
I liked the last thread I saw of this.

I think that when fa and other sites started popping up new artists basically set the bar for whoever was the most popular at the time. It's really apparent now because these people haven't really progressed over the years.
I also think that /mlp/ siphoned alot of these hacks off and, at least for now, the people that are left are more into abstraction.
The pity though is that good proper anatomy is probably the most neglected thing over this time period.
>>3666993
Most early furry artists were just tracing or "eyeballing" photos from porn mags (or manga), and slapping animal heads on the people. Very few were actually skilled at drawing.
>>3666993
Wow never thought much about this before but I definitely agree.
>>3666993
I would say:
- less popular and therefore higher average skill for artists
- less specific fetishes, more vanilla
- less anime/manga influence

It had way more influence from late 80's early 90's cartoons that's why some of them look like tiny toons.

I miss the golden age of renamon porn
>>3684974
I have a folder on my computer named Renamon Archive which is nothing but hundreds of old Renamon pictures. I wonder if I should upload it. It was something I originally downloaded myself, so it's possible some of you have it already.
>>3680983
Comet is pretty top-tier when it comes to older furry art

There is a renamon picture which is my favorite of all time. It is of renamon forcing rika(?)'s mouth on her ass and telling her to suck it. Uncolored image iirc.

>>3688771
Yeah, it's from a TV-made anime film called Bremen 4, as stated. Here's a collage that I made featuring her. It was made for a fat fetish pic I did of her a year or so ago.
But yeah, as a drawfag, it's always neat looking at old furry art for inspiration.
>>3690879
So.. got a link to the image you made since this thread is for pre-2009 art?
While we're still on topic of the movie, anyone got a link to it?
>>3691600
Here's the link to the image. I also included a sketch I did of a scene from a early '70s anime (also done by Tezuka) called Wansa-Kun.

I remember back... a while ago, this was before you could find rips and torrents of content everywhere, the guy behind ZigZag had hidden away the smut of his character. You could find all of the SFW content you could want on his site, but to access the NSFW material you had to enter a password. And it said "The password is Zig Zag's real name, read my 60 chapter story in the stories section to find out what it is." Or something to that effect...
It burned me so much, because I didn't care about the elaborate story behind her, I just wanted to see striped skunk tits.
We need some Vicky Wyman in here.
>>3692446
Speaking of old stories to go with old art. Does anyone have the fics that Doral posted on his site way back when? He doesn't have them on his FA.
>>3692505
It's not a porn comic, but it really is a shame how few people know about Xanadu these days.
Not sure how old this is
>>3695017
I picked up an issue of that once.
I was completely lost.

Well, it's a five issue series. It won't make much sense if you just pick one up at random, but if you start at the beginning it's fairly straightforward.

I think there was an uncensored version of this from the early 2000s, anyone have it?

I wonder where it's from
I think the thing that stands out to me about old furry art is all the text everywhere.
Signatures, URLs, shout-outs, web rings, captions, trivia about the image. They can be veritable billboards!
>>3685341

here is a site with a lot of his content. good stuff.
It's amazing how much this art has changed in the last six or seven years; especially since when you compare the old old stuff from the late 80's to that of the early 2000's and realise the differences aren't terribly pronounced.
>>3765796
There has been a huge increase in artists since 2011, they realized they can get that furry money
Truly magical times, before ahegao and fatfags ruined literally everything.

I don't know if there's a weaboo-ism I dislike more. It's just so pointless.
>>3767145
Or rather the kids/teens liking the "older" furry stuff became artists and started to draw.

>>3692446
I remember that site and actually recall reading the story about 10 chapters, but at some point I dropped it and there was no mention of her name anywhere in those chapters.
Pissed me off to no end not to get access to that gallery.
Then one day couple of years later by accident I ended up figuring out her name from Sabrina Online and some short story I read.
Her real name is Tonya Zumbrowski.
I don't recall the gallery having anything that special when I finally got access to it.
Or at least that point I already had so many pictures of her saved that I basically had all of the smut there was at that point.
It's really interesting going through these artists I have saved here.
Seems like most of them either flat out stopped improving during the 90s and are still on the same level today, or peaked in their skill around 05 and then got slowly but surely progressively worse over time.

>>3774246
literally who?
Got to admire the inking skills people still had ~10 years ago.
Some of these inks are on par with what you see in comics.
I'd say give it another decade and very few in the fandom will remember how to ink traditionally.
Also it seems that many of the artists themselves have already forgotten the abilities they previously had.
Digital is simply too convenient for artists to keep those skills honed up, which is a pity.

A reference is used to understand how an element of an image works. It's an example - such as how something is foreshortened or how the body bears weight in a certain position.
Copying an entire pose, gesture, and expression wholesale and slapping a random element of 'muh style' is not a smart idea.
Granted, you learn from example in art but eyeballing something without considering form/function is retarded. Eyeballing something to the point where you are basically tracing is also a shit/boring thign to do.
I do almost want to give props to people who can competently eyeball though. Often times, eyeballing without understanding (i.e, actually LEARNING from a reference) what you are actually rendering makes for weird, uncanny art that's very easily detectable as being badly eyeballed.
I know this one person who would basically just eyeball trace ModelMayhem boys and panels of yaoi and her art looked like wonky garbage. Characters never looked consistent nor did their style because they just scrapped whatever they thought looked pretty.
That's just my take. Not even the OP of the 'eyeball trace' post either.
Half of the time, eyeballed shit looks 'bootleg' as fuck.
Should I dump this?
>>3802663
do you really have to ask
>>3802663
For posterity's sake at the very least!
People were looking for a source on this pic for a long time, but I don't think one was ever found.
>>3810332
That is rather unfortunate.
Story time
I found Matoc's art doing a project in middle school. I had searched the word "slave" on google images. Honestly I knew I was asking for trouble but I found his site.
Yes my first porn ever was gay furry porn. No, it hasn't affected me much, I married a wonderful woman although at times she's the one wearing the pants in our relationship...
>>3808058
I blame his art for giving me a muscle girl fetish
Since we're posting old art, there's a pic by Inuki around 2003-2004 that I haven't seen it years. It was a ninja/samurai girl. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have it?
before this thread dies does anyone have something from the 80's if you guys do then i'll die happily knowing that there was still furries back then.
>>3819059
There have already been several pictures from the eighties: The Steve Martin ones, Xanadu, the one with the collie and the other dog, etc.
>>3819536
welp damn. i still want to see even older stuff (the older the content is the happier i'll be.)
>>3819697

does anyone know that movie from the early 70's that has an antro cat?
>>3820019
Shinbone Alley?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067749/
>>3820675
Mehitabel is pretty hot.
It's really fascinating going through this old art.
It's like all the art done between 80s and mid 90s has a massive crap factor going on.
Then when approaching the very late 90s there was an explosion in skill and design and furry art went through a huge change.
Actually now that I think about it, the art done by the first furry generations from the 70s and 80s is fucking horrendous.
I get a feeling that they didn't have any idea what to do with the face.
Whether to make it very human, anime or toon inspired and the end result is a huge unappealing mess.
>>3820901
Makes me wonder whether it was the West or the Asians that first caused there to be such a radical shift towards a certain kind of a standard in design.
>>3820901
Even back then, some artists were pretty good (at least in my opinion)
>>3664061
Who is THAT??
>>3820987
Of course they weren't all bad, but the ratio between people who actually knew what they were doing and the shitty ones, was overwhelmingly skewed towards "bad"
Also even many of the good ones often hadn't yet grasped how to draw the face, even if their bodies were pretty good.
Blackrabbit is a good example, his stuff from the mid 90s isn't half bad as far as the body goes, but the heads were still pretty messed up.
Then just couple of years from that and he was already drawing stuff that was all around great.
Unfortunately many of the older artists didn't progress like that and they stagnated to their early styles which were more or less of a mess.
>>3821116
MilesDF drew that.
>>3821181
>Of course they weren't all bad, but the ratio between people who actually knew what they were doing and the shitty ones, was overwhelmingly skewed towards "bad"
Yeah, I can definitely agree with that.
