I'm developing an idea for a story that is basically SCALIES IN SPAAAACE right now, but it's coming along. I think it's a neat idea. Well, what you'll need to worry about the most are the helmet (larger snout means more space required if you want to open your mouth to talk) and the tail (which needs armour rigid enough to tank most blows, flexible enough to allow for at least some movement, easy enough to get into quickly when dressing up and possibly also vacuum-proof.
For helmets the krogan solution is sufficient.
For tail protection I suggest overlapping plates held together by some sort of high-strength polymer mesh.

The talking part won't be an issue, since none of the experiments possess vocal chords. They instead communicate to a computer and vice versa through a chip in their brains, and can also talk to each other in this way to give/receive orders. They're basically abandoned science projects turned soldiers to fight a space drug cartel. I'm still working out the details, but that much is true. If it sounds a bit silly, it's meant to be.
That's a good point about the tails. I was just going to use logic and say if I were going to alter a crocodile into a supersoldier I'd get rid of the tail, but that's no fun, is it?

I suppose it depends. Odahviing is still quite capable even under your rule of showing who's boss, but if you pushed him into showing some domination, I think Paarthurnax would easily outdo him. He was Alduin's right hand in domineering the lesser species for a long, long time, and quite plainly knows how superior they are, even if he wants to play a pacifist role.

This is my huge pet peeve with any beauty and the beast wannabe story.

Personally, for me, it looks and feels too good and too real.
He's certainly got technical and artistic skill, but he's in the uncanny valley where it looks great, but not good enough to be fappable.

They're normally lethargic, passive, and indifferent. The exosuit fixes their posture and gives them energy, making them aggressive and quick. Either way, they'll obey any order given to them as long as you're recognized by their chip as being in control.
