What's the most autistic thing you've ever commissioned and how much did it cost?
>>
I've never commissioned anything or even interacted with an artist, I just masturbate to their topical imagery

Maybe one day
>>
Haven't yet, but contemplating commissioning an artist to draw my sona having sex with a fictional character.

Which is pretty vanilla as far as commissions go.

I haven't commissioned anything yet though I've been into furry like for more than a decade, I think

I kinda want to commission my fursona just to put it on like steam profile picture or something but I don't have a ref sheet or anything and I want to commission from specific favorite artists who are unlikely to take it on (not popufurs, just don't usually take commissions).
>>
>>3334995
Not him but i HATE the word "edgy"

fuck you

not everyone creates things for the exclusive purpose of trying to get a reaction out of YOU

like, fuck off? Sometimes people sincerely like thing???? it is fucking incredible to me how the majority of everyone everywhere can look at something that is an easy target EVERYWHERE then decide that it doens't have a right to be seen, but since it is, it's trying to get a reaction out of YOU.

Like, why should it only be acceptable to successfully please others with appearance in public, and that doing otherwise is "edgy"

that is NOT THE POINT. The point is one's being comfortable. sometimes that means not conforming to conventional aesthetic

it is not meant to be "edgy". it is not done for YOU. i don't understand why you faggots have to think if someone doesn't conform they're being "edgy". No, they are NOT being edgy: they are being themselves. Why can't you just not be triggered by people who do not appear to be like you, but on top of that think they're not trying to appear to be like you FOR THE PURPOSE OF YOU.

like holy fucking fuck. the world does not revolve around you. stop pretending it does. Sometimes PEOPLE LIKE THING, EVEN IF YOU DON'T. THEIR LIKING THING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR NOT LIKING THING. Your discovering that they like thing doesn't necessarily mean they're trying to get a reaction out of you; it means they are being themselves. It is no different than your being a normalfag with normalfag tastes. stop pretending the world revolves around you.

I once paid a 600-pound woman $50 to pretend she had swallowed me whole in a video.

After I came, I immediately felt ashamed of how fucking stupid of a thing I just blew 50 bucks on.
>>
>>3351661
What the fuck? Go on, i'm disgusted but curious to hear your tale.
>>
>>3352120
Well, I like vore, and I like bbw, so why not combine the two?

A lot of people have the same idea, especially on clips4sale. If you search 'vore' in the bbw/ssbbw category, or 'bbw' in the vore category, it's full of fat women roleplaying as having eaten other people alive. It's generally where most of my fap fuel comes from, besides artists and stuff. So one day, I figured I'd order a private custom video, and found a less popular ssbbw model(not even sure she had a c4s?) to buy it from.

It was hot as fuck to me, and it's good that I finally had the experience of getting a custom. But at the end of the day, it was still a pretty fucking retarded thing to blow $50 on.
>>
>>3332011
Haven't done it yet, but I have been drawing up designs for a cyberpunk fursuit thing. I want to commission this guy to make it, it would cost around 6-700 dolleridoos for a full costume, 120 for a helmet.

Alternatively, I would also go for a nice suit of gothic full-plate and make a kickass Elite Knight cosplay. That would however cost upwards of 3000.

$70 for this fucking trash because I have no idea how to communicate with furries and I asked one of my online friends "who would be good to commission". This asshole took a month and didn't even give me a preview beforehand to give me a chance to communicate with him. Apparently he is a "famous artist" or some bullshit which is why it cost so much. How the fuck was I supposed to know any better? I don't know these furry assholes, nor do I care.

I hate furries so much. Next time I am absolutely not spending more than $30 on anyone and I will manually demand a sketch before the finished product. Somehow I naturally expected artists to have the courtesy to just naturally do that, but now I have to make sure to be aware to ask every fucking time for the future.

Same anon here. I also frequent Eka's Portal, and though I didn't commission anything there, there was once this ponyfag and this vore artist who did YCH Auctions.

The artist would put the starting bid around like $50-100, then put the autobuy in the $300-500 range. However, every single time this artist put up a new YCH, the ponyfag would be there within the hour to get the autobuy. And what character did they ALWAYS choose? Their shitty pony OC, of course.

Just for fun, I tallied up the amount of money this guy spent on vore pictures of their OC, just from this one artist, and it was nearing $4000-5000 total over the course of a month or two. The biggest sale was an animated YCH, in which the artist took away the autobuy limit, only to come back hours later to find the ponyfag outbidded every new buyer by $100 each time. She had to suddenly include an autobuy to stop him around the $700 range.

It takes a special, advanced level of autism to spend this much on a pony OC, and I'm at least glad I'm not that insane.
>>

idk if Elite Knight is a specific character or something, but I've always preferred Italian style armors to the gothic ones. It has an elegant simplicity compared to how overdesigned a lot of the german armors are imo.

And yeah they're expensive, but I read an article once that said buying a top quality suit of armor from Milan during the hundred years war cost in modern terms $100,000-$300,000, the same price as a house.

By utilizing a shred of common fucking sense you moron.
This shit is mostly on you, don't blame the person who made that pic.
First, artist has the prices laid out on the front page, and most likely stated how much this thing is going to cost when you commissioned it, so that didn't come to you as a surprise.
Second, you can go and take a look at this artists gallery, which instantly tells you that this person can't even lay down a proper fucking anatomy, so the skill didn't come to you as a surprise either.

So despite this, you decided to go and spend 70$ for this artists work and now you're unhappy, blaming the artist.
Of course the artist should always provide some kind of a sketch and the artist is wrong in going straight at the finished product, but you decided to embark on this 70$ journey on your own, without doing ANY fucking research.
This is on par with something like, buying a shitty prebuild computer and then going online and whining that it doesn't play the newest games maxed out, even if the specs were laid out right next to the fucking thing when you bought it.
>>

Nice job sucking kingofacesx's dick, faggot. There is zero reason you would be angry enough to care to write all that shit to me and be passionate about it if you weren't. Either that or you're just a cunt in general.

Sorry I am a fucking noob and don't commission people on a regular basis and TRUSTED my friend to give me solid advice. By the way, he gave me a $70 refund because he felt bad for misleading me. Sorry it's a foreign concept to you to trust your friend's judgement blindly instead of going out of my way to research and scrutinize and criticize his recommendation.
>>
>>3375367

That artist sucks ass.
But then again, you were too stupid to go and take a look at this persons gallery, which is just few clicks away, so reading comprehension is probably way beyond your abilities here.

And sure, I might be a cunt to call you out on your stupidity, but you're pretending to be a god damn victim here, as if you were somehow screwed over with that commission.
You weren't.
Also this has absolutely nothing to do with commissioning people regularly, this comes down to using two brain cells worth of common sense.
>I was trying to learn skills at being better with people.
Are you legit autistic?
>Sorry it's a foreign concept to you to trust your friend's judgement blindly
You're damn right it is.
How it works is that you take someone else's opinion into consideration and form your own opinions after giving the subject some damn thought.
>>

Damn dude, you type so fucking much. What is even your problem? You must be a real trip wherever else you post, talking paragraphs of shit at random people.

I realize my mistake and I got a reimbursement from my friend. I still wanted to call out that artist for fucking me over because he did. He didn't care. I am entitled to calling out a shit artist.
>>
>>3375776
>Are you legit autistic?
Not him, but social skills are rare nowadays. I'm a writer who occasionally works with engineers, it's scary how anti-social they are.
I have to oversee their emails because they are incabable of conveying a message without using absurd technical jargon.
>>

Don't be a child, anon.
>>
>>3375875

>Damn dude, you type so fucking much.

That's not "much" newfriend, it's how people used to talk around here years ago, before the twitter generation started having an effect and it became the standard to use less than 60 words per post.

Besides judging by our way of communicating here, I can only imagine how you got your message across to the artist.
Probably typed a single paragraph about what you want the pic to look like and then fucked off.
Did you complain about the pic to the artist when it was finished? Did you mention it's not what you wanted it to be like?
Probably not, just took the pic and sulked away all pissed off about it.
Also there seems to be some form of lineart in the artists tumblr, pic related.
Did the artist show you that and did you ask changes then?
My guess is that if you saw it, you just said "ok" let's go with that, because it wasn't a scribbly sketch.

>>3375875
People sure are becoming increasingly socially dysfunctional.
Holding a basic conversation is beyond so many people that it's not even funny.
Also the victim mentality seems to be seeping pretty heavily into the basic behavior and it's annoying as hell.
>>
>>3376169
>Also there seems to be some form of lineart in the artists tumblr, pic related.
>Did the artist show you that and did you ask changes then?

No, dude, no! He DID NOT show me that before the finished image and that is my whole beef. I did not say "ok" let's go with that. He did not give me a preview. That IS the problem.

That sketch was part of the several final images he sent me.
>>
>>3376231

Well no, the real problem is you being an idiot, even if the artist is shit in every imaginable way.

But aside from that.
So how did you conduct the payment, did you pay in full up front or after you received the picture?
It's best to conduct the payment in two parts, when dealing with sums closer to 100$
Either first 50% up front and when the lines are finished, the payment for the rest of picture.
Or go and pay half of the price when the lines are ready and half when the full picture is finished.
Depends heavily on the artist.
This makes the situation fair for both sides and also gives the commissioner some leverage with this.
Especially if you're dealing with shit artists.
But you still didn't express your displeasure towards the end product?
If you did, then what did the artist say about that.

See, this is why conversation is important.
You learn new stuff.
You said you wanted to improve your skills with people, then you need to ditch those twitter comments and start typing things that you consider to be a "wall of text"
Do some critical thinking and don't trust your friends with a shitty taste for art blindly.
Holding a conversation is fucking educational.
>>
>>3376426
Full payment up front, unfortunately. I understand that it is better to do half payments in the future and expect a sketch beforehand.

I expressed displeasure at the final product through my friend because he knows him more personally or whatever, which is why he recommended him I guess. I gave him references on how she should look like and how it shouldn't be a disgusting deformed giant ass thing with horrible proportions, not explicitly saying that, but having my friend communicate that to him.

He just simply wouldn't redo it and he wouldn't give any form of partial refund, either.

Also, I will read a wall of text when it isn't simply "you're stupid you're stupid you're stupid". It's useless to read. I read this paragraph because only the first sentence says "you're stupid".
>>
>>3376231

Furries seem to creat weird dick-sucking feedback loops. someone gets praised, so other people have to praise them in hopes of the artist liking them, and it keeps going, till the point where there's so much praise that even a sketch from that artist is like e-peen points poured directly onto the FA account of the person purchasing it.

I'm about 100% certain that the only reason John De Lancie made that film, was to make some money off Bronies.

First he collected the money via kickstarter to fund it, made the movie, and then threw a tantrum because it didn't make a lot of money after that.
>Baww, people are downloading my movie! Screw you guys! The fandom sucks.
Who on earth was there even left to buy the fucking thing after the Kickstarter rewards?
No one, that's who.
Anyone who wanted the movie already donated to the crowdfunding thing.
After that the market was basically dried out.
He vastly overestimated the size and monetary situation of the pony fandom and basically fell for his own marketing hype.

Of course I can't really blame him for wanting to make money off Bronies.
Hell I did it too, but the way he just insta-dropped the whole fandom and disappeared the moment the movie didn't make him money, really shows how much of a prick he is.

kek, can't say I disagree on them being a bit light
how much do they even cost when you obtain them through legitimate means anyway?
>>

10 bucks for each pack I think

I could buy lunch for that 10 dollars
>>
>>3397970
man, I could get like two nice sandwiches for $10
$5 for most of those packs I could maybe see, but $10 is too much (especially with the varying quality)

A 34 page porn doujin

$400
>>
>>3399849
hey, if you have the money and the artist is worth it I don't see why that's so bad with a fetish as rare as that
I mean, I genuinely can't say I've ever seen someone else with your fetish brainfucker anon
>>
>>3399849
400 bucks for 34 pages of content sounds like one hell of a bargain considering a lot of people draw just single character stuff for 30+ bucks
>>
>>3401540

Yeah that's cheap as fuck. Anon got a good deal there.
It comes down to just 11.7$ per page.

Even triple the price and I wouldn't consider it even remotely expensive for that.
It's not uncommon for even simple comic pages to start from 100$ a page and there's really no upper limit to the prices.
>>
I spent $137 for some Tails x Rouge porn recently. Then I had the artist make a version of that image without Tails for $85.

Art of my OC as a goocritter fapping. The artist was offering a discount on commissions if they were in a certain them, and that week's theme was goo.

Not even disappointed though. It was only like $25 amd I liked how it turned out.

Nah, he's pretty good.

Needs to diversify his asses a bit.

in order to be that artist, you will have to be willing to draw anything and everything. Quality doesn't matter because there will always be someone desperate enough to pay for an overpriced commission of their niche fetish.

Wonder if he still has it.
>>
>>3456178
What the fuck? Makes me wonder where these type of furries get their money because it certainly doesn't come from being a functional human being.
>>
>>3456178

Biggest insult about this whole thing is the god damn background.
The artist spend about 12 seconds max drawing that wonderful lamp there.
If you're making this amount of money from a pic, you should at least put some fucking effort into it.

But still this pic pales in comparison to the screencap of that adoptable auction. Anyone have it?
I recall seeing an adoptable dragon, gryphon or some damn thing, go for +2k or something along those lines.
Can't recall what it exactly cost, but the price was insane.

When does the price for buying something start reaching the autistic levels?
>>
>>3489080
Anything greater than 0$
>>
>>3489080
Use this formula:

(Commission Price) / (Money you earn per hour)

If it's over 3 you're an autist. If it's a divide by zero error you're exactly where you should be in life.
>>
>>3489080

If you can afford it and you want it, get it.

Who cares what people think about your spending habits.
Some people think that spending a hundred or two on a commission is absurd.
I think that a sum like that isn't even much.
Also people saying "oh my god, how can you spend so much on a commission" are most likely upgrading their phones and computers every year or two. They probably buy fast food, beer or cigarettes, they might even buy games.
All of those are things which I consider a fucking retarded way to spend your funds.

The point is that you're most likely not going to save that money and there's always going to be someone there who disagrees with how you spend cash.
You'll most likely spend it on some frivolity without even realizing it, like eating out, so might as well go and get something you really want, like a commission or a fursuit or whatever you happen to be into.
Of course, don't do idiotic shit like >>3456178
If you're spending that amount of money, then make sure that the product you get is at least good.

Gotta give it to the artist, this guy sure knows his audience.

But then again, there are some really rich buggers in the fandom.
I've seen many doctors running around and there's at least one insanely rich Arab, who likes to buy these things.
