I was acknowledging that "anthro" is used as a degree to which a character is saturated with human/ animal characteristics or whatever.
However, I also asserted in the next sentence that the term "semi-anthro" is null since it should be impossible literally-speaking.
"Anthro" means "anthropomorphic". in the context of "semi-anthro", i personally only have ever seen it used in the context of asking if a character is somehow not on the spectrum of anthro. that's not true. it is, hence, it is not "semi-anthro"; it is merely anthro.
It is just acknowledging context to give the contextual answers people seek. When one says Starfox is "more anthro" than a feral fox, you understand what they're saying: they're asserting that Starfox is anthro, and the feral fox is not.
When someone, however, says their OC is "semi-anthro".... no. No, it's not. It's anthro: it is fundamentally anthro as per the detinition of the word. But when that is established, colloquially, depending on your extreme of reference, you may find yourself asserting "Starfox is more anthro than Balto", and people will get what you mean. if you see what i am saying...

If it's, for example, a character that is not human but has been reinterpreted as human than its a fully anthropomorphic character. You see this a lot in MLP for example. This is using the word anthropomorphic as it is in the dictionary. It just basically translates into adding human traits to non-humans regardless if it's half human half animal. The more human the character is the more anthropomorphic.
It extends to pretty much anything. If you're a dog/cat owner you probably anthropomorphize your pets everyday.
In the context of this thread anthro is used to describe humanoid animals most of the time. I guess in the case of """"semi-anthro"""" is used to describe animal character who are bipedal but not humanoid.
