Here's what you do. Go out to dinner with Red, and order ONE drink. Get something super light and sip at it. Once you start to feel buzzed, stop drinking. Everything changes your mind. What you eat, when you go to bed, how much sleep you get, how much time you spend around people, how much time you spend at a computer, these are already altering your brain chemistry. The only difference with alcohol is that it's quick, actually noticeable in the short term whereas those other things aren't, and more importantly, it wears off after a few hours.
Literally nothing is wrong with enjoying alcohol in moderation, unless you're prone to alocholism and can't control yourself.
