Actually, I read that the whole reason Bounce Houses even started was to prevent incest. It gave extended rabbit communities a chance to come together explicitly so that they could blow off steam with each other rather than being cooped up solely with family members and no outlet.

TECHNICALLY segregated bounce houses are illegal. They have been for over a decade.
However, while there were a few fully integrated bounce houses YEARS ago, when the laws changed most segregated houses only reluctantly adapted. Today integrated bounce houses are a rare find because of loopholes. Either:
A) The bounce house will impose a size restriction (technically not illegal due to OTTSHA safety compliance) as a way of keeping most other animals out or
B) While larger animals and preds are accepted TECHNICALLY, don't expect a warm reception. You'll find few if ANY bouncers willing to stick around and most people will just give you the stinkeye until you leave.
Makes me really long for the days when opening the Bounce House ideal to everyone was a dream we all shared. People strove for it, but after the regulations, nobody is willing to accommodate. Bunnies shun pred bouncers and preds look down on anyone who wants to try bouncing as degenerate or suffering from pred-guilt.

In Zootopia, bounce houses aren't really about sexual relief. I mean there's still a whole lot of bouncing going, but what it's really about is a rabbit that spends their entire life surrounded by rabbits moves to the big city and gets major culture shock when they can go an entire day without seeing someone of their own species. Zootopian bounce houses (and the surrounding cafes and whatnot) act as a sort of unofficial community center for homesick rabbits to let them be around their own species again.

As long as there's land that can be converted into rabbit farms, rabbit population growth is harmless. Yeah if you look at that population tracker at Bunny Burrow it'll freak you out, but the overwhelming majority of rabbit families still produce a surplus of food that gets exported.

This is both really accurate and really misleading. I actually talked with a friend on this same subject recently and I think a lot of it comes down to people conflating species with society?
Everyone just assumes any rabbits they see are from the Burrows, but I was born and raised in Tundratown. So I'm a case both for and against this argument, because I don't have this "culture shock" everyone espects rabbits to have.
A lot of people seem to think a bounce house is just an unchecked orgy, a swingers club, or whatever. It's not. It's a place you're supposed to be free, comfortable, and able to enjoy yourself, not just "oh I need to fuck strangers because I have a boner right now".
But as my friend pointed out, we're not the only ones with needs like that. I do feel the need for camaraderie in my own species, but doesn't everyone? Culturally, bounce houses are made for us, and there's so many reasons we need them, but maybe we're not the only ones.
I'm just saying. Until recently I always thought people who wanted in were just stereotyping bounce houses as mindless orgies, but I guess I was stereotyping them by assuming they didn't have any deeper needs, like I'm the only one who needs that kind of connection and comfort, but they're just in it for sex.

That's because outside of Zootopia itself, species and society are almost always the same thing. Sure there's a bunch of two- or three-species towns and cities out there but Zootopia's the only real melting pot and even then it's still warming up - just look at how rare and how taboo pred-prey relations were until recently, and there's still a stigma attached to them.
There's going to be a lot of messiness and confusion and tension while we work things out. It's a completely new societal frontier we're heading into. But as long as everyone stays open-minded, I think things will work out. The problem is there's a lot of people who think they're doing the right thing by defending things that don't need defending - if someone really admires a certain species and wants to emulate them, I think they should be allowed to do so. Chompers and Grazers came together for something beautiful and happy and magical. We weren't even afraid to call each other those names with a smile, we knew we were all in it as one people. When you were in there, it was like a different world.

The problem is that BHs act as sort of a rabbit community center - it just sort of happened that way, nobody planned it. But now if you try to go in there as any other species they act like you're trying to intrude on their community center. Which you kinda are because it's a big confusing ambiguous mess.
It's just my armchair economist opinion so take it for what it's worth, but I think desegregated bounce houses failed because the core customer base - bunnies - just kept going to their own BHs and the desegregated ones just became a sad unprofitable hangouts of ten to fifteen predators loitering awkwardly hoping some prey would come in. And some of those preds ended up fucking each other and having a marvelous time, sure - I'm still convinced that a number of the pred sex communities have their roots in the failed deseg BHs - but there just wasn't enough traffic to keep the doors open.
What's the solution? I have no idea. Maybe the bunnies should start forming actual community centers and let the BHs just be BHs and that'd make them more relaxed about 'encroachment' by preds. The thing is, I'd even go a step further: I think we're ready for more NOW. We're not as separate as some people think. Hell, you mention two- and three-species towns, but I think you'd find even Bunnyburrow is a more diverse melting pot than people realize. True, it has a lower pred-prey ratio than the overall population by a significant margin, but otherwise there's a lot of diversity. Rabbits have the sheer numbers but the Burrows make happy homes for sheep, goats, pigs, horses, oxen, even camels, antelopes, elephants. Hell, I used to live one hill off from a family of polar bears. They LOVED it there. I used to swim with them all the time, they were down at the watering hole literally every day and couldn't stop talking about how much they liked it better than Tundratown.

It's roleplaying and I won't claim it's not, but on a pretty thin level, mostly just to explore the world-as-given, and take an interesting and collaborative look at various dynamics and details.
Frankly I think it's pretty fascinating to read, but then my favorite part of any fanfic is always the worldbuilding and exploring all the details and nuances the movie teased but didn't have time to explore.
