Also, index finger shouldn't bend like that.
Tails: chin and neck going full Mr. Meeseeks (also evident on one Rouge pic I don't have at hand), flat chest fur, the way arm is connected with a torso, and even though I can't see larger part of him, I can assume that his arms are as long as his legs, or even longer. For comparsion, picrelated: Tails with neck done right (so, to put it, "technically unobserable").
Both: floor levels of the Rouge's palm, butt and wherever Tails is sitting do not match at all. Also, they have overly elongated torsoes and their necks don't fit in the middle of shoulders.
And we haven't even started onto the perspective and other "unimportant" matters.

As for methods, even when it's stonecutting or flipbook animation, what matters in the end is resulting visuals. If you fluked, don't blame the tool, and if you succeeded, don't praise it.

I'd say the process is more important than the result. Anyone can ape an end result, learning the way to it is what will make the difference a year or so from now. Take sfm for example. I could go download a model that someone else ripped, that someone else rigged, put it on a scene that yet another set up and lit, and have something at least okay given the right effort. However I'd have no clue how to do any of that from scratch and would never be able to. If i learned from scratch, I could go anywhere with the only limit really being me. That's where the difference comes in, not just the tool but the knowledge behind it.

Well, if it's really you (and still here), then add some more butt to Rouge. It's better to treat buttocks and hips separately whenever applicable, like here: >>2124452 or there - >>2068603 , >>2203698 . Her face kinda looks lopsided because it's gravitating to the left; enlarging the eye on the right and reshaping the muzzle so it would have less curvature would certainly help. Maybe, somewhat wider mouth to compensate, too. In a way, all this head stuff is somehow akin to spherical geometry, except with less greek letters. Shoulder joint needs an overhaul and on this side view one already expects to see the shoulder blade, which is more convex than concave. Again about torso length: even with a normal body you can easily reach your armpit with a (corresponding) raised knee, which is kinda not happening currently; the solution is up to you.
And generally, attempt to separate foreground from background somewhat more. Dulling the background colors, or adding those "papercut" outlines, pretty much anything goes.
