Hi /toy/ - I mostly only buy things I find reasonably rare or unique when it comes to toys or statues. I know that for the most part, toys/statues have a limited value, even if they're "rare."

I hate leaving them in their package, but I don't want to ruin their perceived value. Should I just unbox everything I like, or should I hold on to their mint value?

Keep in mind, I'm not a diehard collector of anything, and the room I have to display things is minimal. I should really just stop buying stuff...

Pic related is kind of an example. Got her for really cheap tonight, so I'm not sure if I should open the box or save it.

If you're fine with displaying things in the box and never actually playing the thing, go ahead and display it MISB.

If you aren't, then either resell it or open it. There's no reason to keep it MISB otherwise.
>save it
...For what exactly? For her price to go up even further so you can resell it?
There's always a limit to how much people are willing to pay for something, and there's always the small chance of something getting reissued.

Buy 2. One to keep MISB, the other to open and enjoy. That's what I sometimes do.

Spoiler: I doubt selling all the MISB stuff I've collected will amount to much $$$. But that's okay for me. The main reason I like MISB is because sometimes the packaging is fantastic. Opening a box isn't that bad, but things on card can't be opened so neatly.

If you're not into collecting, then maybe you shouldn't buy toys.
