Let's see your collection from as far back as you can recall versus the present day! I'm really interested in seeing how everyone's collection has grown.

I'll start with the earliest photo I took of my small collection.

So here's a conundrum /toy/... Given the lack of space to display figures, would you rather:

A. Display more figures but with generic space saving neutral hero poses

B. Display less figures, but with dynamic poses on each

The lamps light up via coin batteries. You can get them from Dollhouse shops. The snow globe is actually a glass ball for seeing into the future/practicing the occult. Thanks for the kind words though!

Yep, a deltof is a decent option. I only recommended the aquariums if you are strapped for cash. Pet smart sells the one gallon starters with built in LEDs for 12.99 and they can fit maybe one to three (albeit tightly) 6 inch figures into them.

I'm planning on moving onto the two gallon ones for dioramas myself since they provide 360 degrees of vision and the LEDs can change to any colour you need.

So is there such thing as having too many action figures? At what point you devolve into a manchildren autist rather than a dignified and sophisticated collector?

The rule of powerlevel states that one should hide powerlevel in public. You're allowed to decorate your room sure, to give it some individuality but the rule of powerlevel still applies.

It's sad to see someone with $20,000 worth of toy collection and they're all stuffed and jammed into a mancave

Ideally it would be a rotating shelf and display, so one could display different detolfs on different day or week.

Having a clutter also kind of undervalue your collection. 5x~$70 animu figma figures nicely spaced in a detolf looks more exclusive than 20 of them jammed together next to 20 marvel legends on the other shelf

Any reason it's become cool to shit on Detolfs? Is it because it's affordable or something? I guess if Detolfs costed 300 bucks, then they'd be cool again.

I can understand reprimanding someone for displaying their high end figures in static poses on some shitty hand-me-down grandma shelves or the classic cheap ass Walmart shelves. But thinking a Detolf display looks shitty? Wow...guess that make you feel better about yourself or something.

It's always been shat on, newfag.
Detolfs only became popular when Ikea was selling them for $20 years ago.

>I guess if Detolfs costed 300 bucks, then they'd be cool again.
IF they cost $300, everyone would be laughing at anyone getting wobbly overpriced crap and buying something else instead.

The only reason detolfs are even popular here is because it's budget crap. Hence, spending thousands dollars on toys yet having shitty furniture because you don't actualy have money to afford anything good.
>>
>>5738003
What do you suggest to display figures?
>>
>>5738003
>It's always been shat on, newfag.
Actually, no it hasn't. Detolfs have been consistently recommended to collectors over shitty Walmart/Target shelves for YEARS. Get your head out of your ass on that one, bud. Unless you're talking about the few VERY VOCAL posters on /toy/ (and literally ONLY /toy).

>The only reason detolfs are even popular here is because it's budget crap.
It's popular because it's not only affordable, but actually looks good. Like I said, Walmart and Target shelves are budget crap, but are very rarely recommended. Detolfs, while admittedly not the sturdiest of choices, definitely get the job done while looking the part.

I'll second what >>5738021 said though. I have both Detolfs and Besta units with glass doors/shelves. I'm curious to see what you suggest to display figures (hopefully not that wobbly piece of shit in your image). Also, what do you personally use in your collection?

> I'm curious to see what you suggest to display figures
I posted dozens before, but you know what happens after you shit on something people have bought into? Everything else is shit because detolf perfect. You can't reason with upset people.

The only way people would accept anything else is if there's an option that's cheaper than a Detolf and nothing really is, and if there was, it'd be just as shitty as the Detolf.

Then post it again. Or at least try to be a little more subtle while dodging a question/request.

Also, like I said, I'll admit the Detolf isn't perfect, and I have a few other display cases that I use besides the Detolf. Personally, I love Bestas with glass doors...shit just looks great to me.

As for what i use, again, pointless and dumb, but i'll just say i don't buy anything that's meant to be viewed from all angles and just stick it against a wall.

Do they have adjustable shelves? Seems better than the Billys, which i do have one of that i modified so it wouldn't be a piece of wobblyshit like the budget crap it is. And no, i don't use it to display toys, just books.

Where in the world are these comments? Or are you just paranoid?

I literally said what you posted was a wobbly piece of shit here >>5738056. I've seen it at Ikea, it's shit.

>Do they have adjustable shelves?
They do, and they're extremely thick/sturdy. I personally use Inreda glass shelves for my Bestas, though.

Also, that's a nice display in your image. What kind of shelf is that? A Billy?

Never saw the other threads? Lots last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that and the year before that and the yearbeforethatandtheyearbeforethatandtheyearbeforetc
There's always been better suggestions and the people who hate them because it's too expensive.

> I've seen it at Ikea, it's shit.
... even the Detolf at Ikea is sturdy, but it's been bolted down to handle kids jumping around and clumsy old people falling over the joists in the floor. If it was wobbly there, someone didn't do their job right.
Anyway, it's studier than the Detolf when put together right.

> What kind of shelf is that? A Billy?
Yep, but it's wobbly shit i wouldn't recommend. Very customizable and what i actually like from shelving. It's why i dislike the Detolf, because it has none of that. It looks especially bad when people are sticking in risers to make their clusterfucks not look as clusterfucky but still clusterfuck anyway. People sticking in large dolls and the light with barely any head room is ugly, especially when said dolls are expensive as fuck.

>Never saw the other threads? Lots last year, and the year before that, and the year before that
Dude, seriously? This is an anonymous message board. Not only that, but why in the world would I keep tabs on that kind of shit from old threads?

>Anyway, it's studier than the Detolf when put together right.
I'll take your word for it. Though I own 4 Detofs and 2 of them are pretty wobbly, the other two are sturdy as hell. I've actually moved 3 times with them, once to a 3rd floor apartment, once to a rental house, and again to my current home. Never took them apart either, just taped them up and stuffed pillows/blankets in there. At one point it was just one that was wobbly, but I'm assuming the moves kind of loosened up the other one. Either way, maybe it's just the luck of the draw with Detolfs.

>It looks especially bad when people are sticking in risers to make their clusterfucks not look as clusterfucky but still clusterfuck anyway. People sticking in large dolls and the light with barely any head room is ugly, especially when said dolls are expensive as fuck.
You actually have good points and are sticking with your argument. Guess that means you're not a troll like I assumed you were, sorry.

I guess we just have different opinions, but I definitely understand where you're coming from now.
>>
>>5738246
>not going to collection threads to see how they display their stuff and what toys you might like everytime they pop up
it's like you aren't part of this community or have a working memory.

>Guess that means you're not a troll like I assumed you were
dude, seriously. Instead of getting butthurt that someone is derisive about things you know are wobbly budget shit, you should consider that they really are shitting on it because it's wobbly budget shit.

Also, are you sticking your detolfs together, side by side? Or do you not cnosider it to be wobbly when you open it and it being all light as shit?
Good furniture should be breaking your back when moving it... and not because it's awkward to move. Durability correlates with that weight and makes it safer.
>>
>>5738270
>it's like you aren't part of this community or have a working memory.
Even if that's true, you're not comprehending the fact that this is an ANONYMOUS message board. I can't say "x person said this the last thread" because EVERYONE IS ANONYMOUS.

>Instead of getting butthurt that someone is derisive about things you know are wobbly budget shit, you should consider that they really are shitting on it because it's wobbly budget shit.
I literally apologized for the mistake. You're saying I don't have a working memory, but it's like you don't remember that damn near every single collection thread breeds trolls who talk mad shit about everyone's displays just to rustle jimmies while offering no real advice or anything. Sorry for thinking this thread was heading int hat direction since it almost always happens.

>Also, are you sticking your detolfs together, side by side?
Side by side.

>Or do you not cnosider it to be wobbly when you open it and it being all light as shit?
I said 2 are wobbly (one is wobbly probably from being moved 3 times). And light as shit? Umm...not sure what kind of weight lifting prodigy you are, but Detolfs have some pretty hefty weight to them. I've had to put them on Dollies to move them and it's taken me and another person to hoist them onto the moving truck each time.
>>
>>5738289
>I can't say "x person said this the last thread" because EVERYONE IS ANONYMOUS.
?
I'm not sure what this matters. All that matters is that people get butthurt and will become extra defensive about the crappy shit they bought, and this has happened time and time again, where better options are shat on. Doesn't matter who said it, just that it happens and it being new people everytime just says something about the human ego.

> but it's like you don't remember that damn near every single collection thread breeds trolls who talk mad shit about everyone's displays just to rustle jimmies while offering no real advice or anything
Huh? Most people actually give a reason. People just like taking things to the extreme. If someone says a toy is shit because it lacks paint, that's not trolling. Almost everyone will have a reason for shitting on something. Take it for what it means, not for its tone.

Take this barf inducing shit. No one has to be a cook to think this will make you end up squirting from both ends of your body.

The articulation isn't bad, there's an endoskeleton that everything is built on. The joints are stiff but still adjustable enough so you're not in danger of snapping anything.

The material of the exterior figure seems to be made of mixture of rubber and plastic. As far as the hand options go they're within the same range as most Japanese/Chinese figures. I'd show you, but closet ghost.

In summary, I'd only suggest getting this figure if you're a fan of Boba Fett and even then, if you have $90 you can drop on it with little though. Also, when I first got it there was a very strong paint smell.

How does something like this happen? Like, at what point do you look around at the filth surrounding you and say "Ah fuck it" and just quit cleaning shit up?

How can people live like this without feeling claustrophobic?

Dang man, so much nostalgia. I mean, they're not great toys by any stretch (aside from The Maxx) but it makes me feel like I walked back into a small comic shop circa 1996 and am seeing all the stuff they'd typically have on the walls for wildly inflated prices.

They're old cases Mcfarlane used for their toys. They can be pricey depending on the figure you buy but I got the majority of mine for $18 a piece. Since the front plastic panel can be removed, it makes working with them easier but also for taking photographs as well.

My collection peaked at around 50 or so figures.
Sold almost all of them.

Pick related are the only two I kept, as they're the most important to me. I've had the iron giant ever since I was a kid and got spidey a few years ago.
