June Challenges:
>Build a minifigure of a Star Wars character that doesn't already have one.
>Build a robot command centre. You figure out what it's supposed to be a robot or command them!
>Build something that's mostly Lego but uses some third party/off brand pieces.
>Build a brick-built wheelchair that looks better than the one in 60134.
>Build something based off of another anon's MOC.
>Fenimiminismninimism- Give your female figs something BADASS to ride around in! Bonus points for minidolls.
>Make a Fighting arena for your two most badass minifigs!
>Home Sweet Home - In honor of Captain Rex's AT-TE, rebuild a vehicle into a mobile home for your favorite figs.
>Build a shrine or alter.
>June Bride. Set up an impromptu wedding between your sig fig and another fig, or your waifig/husbafig and another. Bonus points for celebrity guests, full musical acts and ultimate points for treating her/him like a princess/prince with a "fairytale wedding" (fancier the better).
June Meme Set:
60061 Airport Fire Truck
first for that feel when I want some new huge sets, I can afford them, but I don't have any more shelf space
Oh shit, robot Hitler is here! What are you gonna do?
>>5701627
if it's two pieces fused together it's still meant to count as one piece. i mean, if you take them apart you'll end up with two fucked up pieces.
can anyone who has an Axl post a picture of what the inside of the torso looks like?
>>5701651
Maybe you should save for a larger house/apartment/tent/sleeping bag?
>>5701655
Summon mecha Stalin ofc.
>>5701657
also, i was replying to the anon who was asking what the print on the rest of the torso looks like, implying it could be taken apart.
>>5701657
But if it is two fused pieces, you could remove the glue somehow. I've heard boiling of heating works. You'd end up with a fucked torso and a useful armor. Same idea for all the anons complaining about the ghost rider hair. It is possible to remove the hair in a useable condition, by possible damaging the head part.
Lego Quest is up if anybody wants to come over and play with us!

Does anyone have instructions of a decent looking mech? Smaller builds preferred, thanks
I saw a Stormtrooper online and really wanted it, so I did a mockup in LDD and then I'm going to order the parts for it.

Just wait for the chinese knockoff. That way sony and the movie makers wont see a penny.
>>5701657
It is two pieces glued together
IMO someone would be able to get them apart with both intact
I'd be very curious to see how the inside of the armor piece works
I don't think th piece is useful for anything other than axel like this.
That being said i'm considering prying them apart
anyone have any ideas on how i could do it?
>>5701945
Look up how to remove minifigures from magnets. If it is the same glue, that should be a good start.

I'd rather give money to Feminists and Chinks then scalp the new Buster Minifigs a year after the set is prematurely pulled from shelves.

You would be better off going through Aliexpress. Most stores on there give you free shipping, and if you get the sets without the box, you get them super cheap. For instance, the regular hulkbuster set knockoff through ali is like $20. The green version I posted a few posts up is around $16 or so. They generally shouldnt run you over $20, $25 if you are getting stiffed or if their shipping method is better.
Only problem is the wait, but you get a guarantee usually (IE: if the set doesnt get to you, in lets say 60 days AT MOST, you get to keep the set when it does come and get a full refund.). Most ive had to wait for anything from Ali was a month and a half.

No, it's just Lego's varying shades of regular brown mixed together.

Who is the red guy supposed to be? Vision?
>>5702358
Found more info, this is definitely new as fuck, and the red guy in the pics is supposed to be vision (?), also they have a Bruce Banner figure in there (which begs the question, why in the FUCK hasnt lego done a Bruce fig yet? even as a "collectors" fig for cons?), and it looks like this thing will run around $80 once its widespread....still, lego would have charged $200 probably.

Thinking about buying these lego by the pound lots on ebay/local. Worth or nah?
>>5702613
If you like to have lots of lego that does not match, and REALLY don't care about which parts you get: yeah.
If you already have a favorite genre of building: nah. Either bricklink the parts you need, or get sets with the parts. If you must use ebay, try "lego lot specialty" or "lego lot COLOR". Also check out seller "missstuffs" for large lots of one or two parts. Most of their auctions end at $5 to $15.
Some parts really are more useful than others.

>>5702896
Dino Island was the only Adventurers line I never bothered with. Wasn't as Indiana Jonesish as the other three I guess. Though if you ask me, the actual Indiana Jones sets are inferior imo. Didn't stop me from getting them all though.
>>5702613
If it's anything like buying dice per pound, ocassionally you'll get a few bad pieces, but in the long run probably cheaper per piece than buying specific individual items.
I hate when a lego buying-trip goes poorly, and by that I don't mean "Man I bought too much lego, my poor wallet" I mean "Man there was nowhere fucking open so I had to resort to buying an overpriced magazine for the freebie to get my fix"
>>5702798
Why is that in English?
>>5702931
Sort of what happened to me this weekend. I was looking for the series 6 mixels, ended up buying a diznee CMF bag, which wasn't so bad since I got Maleficent.
I'm starting to think that my local stores didn't even bother to stock on those mixels, though.
What's the best option to get them outside of the US?

>>5702949
Mixels don't come out until Wednesday. I doubt stores will bother breaking the date for them, and some will probably be lazy and wait a few days on top of that.
>>5702951
>Am I cool now, guys?!
>>5702958
I'm talking about the ones with the MCPD, not the one with the piiates that I know is coming out later on. i think it's actually series 7.
Series 6 has been selling rather slowly here, to I was guessing that local stores choose to not stock up on the next one considering how late it is.
>>5702968
Oh. Shit, sorry about that. I'd imagine that yeah they've sold out considering wave 7 comes soon. S@H put them on sale a month ago to clean stock, so I can see other stores doing the same. They do have the MCPD ones still, so maybe could check there. I know around here the only place still stocked with older waves is Toys R Us, but they seem to order more than 1-2 boxes so they're always sitting on shelves and never on sale.
Considering everything wave 6 did seem a bit weird compared to older ones. Less creature, more machine, so that might explain the lack of popularity. Still liked 'em myself though.
>>5702958
My TRU broke street date with them. I got the MCFD set. Whichever idiot put them on the pegs didn't bother to check whether they put up complete sets of the medical and pirate mixels.

>>5702896
Orient Expedition was the shit. I still have all of them save for the India elephant one sitting on my shelf. I'd love to get that one, but it's pretty damn expensive for how big it is nowadays.
>>5702867
That is insane.
What is the significance of the skull in the box in the little outbuilding?
What are you guys buying June 1st on S@H?
I'm purchasing some a power battery box and M motor, probably the Ghost Rider set and i guess some minifigs /bricks & pieces for the Fountain set
>>5702638
It depends. Can you spare the extra cash for bricklink? Can you spare the time for sorting? If you buy from bricklink, it often comes bagged and sorted for you.
How big is your collection? Would 100 pounds double or triple your collection's size?
Going rate for a pound of lego on ebay seems to be about $10. Going by the "correct" price per part of 10 cents, $10 gets you 100 parts that are immediately useful.
It really depends.
>>5702858
No, it was city vehicles without those round mudguards. Vananon settled on a six wide van anyway
>>5703123
I have that particular set, if you mean the small one. It was maybe the last set I got before my dark ages.
>>5703175
Are you sure the Rider set is coming out then? Its listed no where on the site and its cutting it pretty close to the release date...
>>5702638
One other thing. If you your favorite building genre is something small and greebly, you could be better off buying bricklink. If its something that can use all the different parts in a bin, just get bulk. Same principle applies if you have a favorite building color that isn't red, blue, yellow, or greyscale. You might not get useful quantity of the pieces you WANT from bulk.
>>5703193
Yeah, I meant the one in the picture. Lucky you. I want it, but I don't want to pay more than double the RRP for it.
>>5703207
Where do you live?
>>5703208
New Hampshire, Bugerland.
>>5703222
All right. I was considering letting you buy it for a reasonable price, but I'm not sending it across the Atlantic.
>>5703006

I hate how much crap sticks to rubber pieces.
>>5703224
Ah well. Thanks for the thought.
In other news, is there any reason not to buy knockoffs like these? I mean, they're just as compatible, right?
>>5703233
In other news, is there any reason not to buy knockoffs like these? I mean, they're just as compatible, right?
+Much cheaper than LEGO 80/90% some times.
+Characters that are out of print or not made by LEGO.
+New folded pieces.
-Print quality is below par
-Molding is often below par
-Plastic quality can be anywhere from almost as good as LEGO, to 'Sweaty dogshit' forced into molds and painted with sharpie.
-No quality control, its a lottery how good what you get is.
-Depending on seller, can take MONTHS to arrive.
>>5703249
Almost every negative this guy said is bullshit today. I have bought dozens of bootleg super hero figs in the last few months, and besides a few outliers, they have all been fine.
>>5703232
Dandruff just makes them even more lifelike!
>>5702939
cause it's from england. duh.
>>5703233
>>5703249
my main reasons are unique prints and molded pieces
>>5703233
I would be more at peace with not having a minifigure that I know it's out of print or a very limited release with an obscene, hard-to-justify price, over having a bootleg in my collection, knowing that it's a bootleg.
Personally, I don't know how that's supposed to fill the void when the guilt of doing some HERESY is going to be there, watching me every day as I wake up in my room and see a glimpse of my collection.
But if it works for someone else, I don't see the problem, as long as you're able to deal with the quality issues as >>5703249 says. You can circumvent it by ordering more than 1 figure and building one with the best parts of each, like some other anon did with his Deadpool minifig IIRC.
Many thanks to anon for the yiffy contest! Now we know why his favorite hideout was called the Wolf's Lair.
>>5703276
Just that fact that people feel "guilt" over having some bootleg plastic is fucking ridiculous. Same with guilt over heresy and :illegal" connections (which I can only partially understand due to stressing parts, but even then its not like said part is something super rare or impossible to replace.)
>>5703233
I can see their lower quality from that pic. If you don't them enjoy the cheaper prices. But I like when they come up with their own ideas and moulds.
>>5703272
I knew their T-rex was smaller, but I not THAT small. I think I'll have to get one T-rex baby for mine.
>>5703175
Just bought the TIE Advanced/A-Wing last week, next thing on my list is the summer Bionicle wave (and the fountain).
>>5703037
Looks sweet. Clever use of panels.
My gf got me the F40 for my birthday. Amazing set. I really love this big, licensed car builds. I think Lego should make them a regular thing. I'd kill for them to do an old Buick or Cadillac or something.
>>5703301
I would argue that an important part of having a collection of something is to be happy and/or proud of the legitimacy of said collection, be it because of their origins, or the effort it took you to build it over the years.
A casualfag checking out your collection would most likely be impressed of seeing that Deadpool minifig in your ranks, but if you yourself know that it's not Lego but Sheng Yuan of whoever makes those, why bother?
Everyone has their own reasons to collect sets or figs, of course. But if it's for the sake of completionism it think it's a rather hollow solution.
Forgot to say in the previous post the case of getting minifigs that TLG would otherwise not produce, which is a bit more valid, but it would have more value for me if TLG actually made them, otherwise I can live without them.
Now I've got to say, I'm not too much of a starwars/DC/marvelfag so you might as well disregard my thoughts on the matter. I'm most likely unfamiliar to the feel of not having minifigs that have fallen victim to the availability issues and the scalping cancer that plagues this hobby.
heresy
>>5703371
Got this one during my vacation, on my first visit to the Lego Store in Rockefeller. it was a good day.
There's some clever use of parts. It's still my favorite Ferrari vehicle and its squared design fits almost perfectly into Lego.
What I find weird is that this was catalogued under Creator, despite being a one-build set. I would think it's better suited as a more advanced division of the Speed Champions line.
>>5703383
When a character doesn't physically exist, I usually go for a custom using torso decals and such. Even if it's not that great like pic related, it's usually passable.
When I was collecting Indiana Jones sets, I must have made over a dozen customs for figures who never got made.

According to what I read about the new lego star wars show she is in, she is a Jedi, but in the set she is obviously evil (right down to the red saber and her reverse face being covered in red force lines and scowling and shit).
Did lego spoil a plot point to their new show in their new set?
Also, real sick of these fucking captchas "select store fronts until they disappear" bullshit fucking never works COCKSUCKERS.

They seem to spoil a lot of shit with sets. Leaks and unsynced release dates really mess with things lately.
>>5703490
But yet one of the biggest spoilers of the year (Spidey in Civil War) they kept under wraps till even a few weeks after the movie had been out. Of course while doing that they spoiled GiANT Man being in it.
>>5703497
For every one thing right, they get two or more wrong. There's also Crossbones' design in that other set, although there are more favorable cases like having a Hank Pym in his Ant-Man suit despite that shit never happening in the movie.
I would like to know more about the design process that makes TLG ending up with those "happy accidents", especially since this appears to be more of an issue with Marvel sets than DC.

I'm trying to recreate this from this from the photo's you posted, but I have not idea how you did it.
But then again I suck at building, always have.
>>5703123
I still have most of those pieces. I remember using the yellow rubber RES-Q strether piece to make a football helmet for it to ram stuff.
Anyway I wonder when Lego will make new animal figs? I mean sure you can build one, but it's nice to have smooth figures.
>>5703497
Spidey was spoiled by the second trailer. Not like it was a big secret by the time it leaked.
>>5703504
>Hank Pym in his Ant-Man suit despite that shit never happening in the movie.
Well it did. Kind of. Old footage of him back in the 70s and flash backs.
They do a mix of comics and movies for the super hero lines as well, so that's one reason designs aren't always accurate to expectations, or they add weird stuff.
Autistic wheelanon who was trying to find City sets without fenders here.
Got a little Creator set with those intermediate sized small-axle wheels today and they're everything I ever wanted, holy shit. Only complaint was that they're slightly too small looking when used with the fender parts, but really they look better than the normal big chunky wheels anyway because they don't stick half-outside the car.

When I was putting together some stuff for yesterday's game, I was wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to make sake cups before realizing an upside-down round tile looked pretty good. I was just going to use a genie lamp as the bottle, but then when I was looking through my Home, Health & Beauty pile I realized that an ice cream cone and a tile combined to make a really nice-looking sake bottle.
Anybody have any other cool minifig-scale kitchenware ideas?
>>5703550
Not kitchenware, but the stud shooters make great impromptu hairdryers.
I heard we postin' breakdancing robutts?

>>5703554
Cheaper to paint the yellow leg assemblies they already had than to pay someone five cents to pop off a bunch of legs and put them on different hips.

Oh, you got him, excellent. Very welcome, and I love the WolfenFuehrer.

Thanks. I'll never watch Raiders again without thinking that guy's actually Harry Potter.

I assume the cut was so quick the blood hasn't had time to leave the body.
>>5703594
I've seen that yellow dude somewhere before...
>>5703670
You are correct. I started reaching for a round stud out of my blood bag, hesitated, and left it alone.
I thought it would be a nice contrast to how these fights usually end.

>>5703720
Hey LQ, any reason you ran the game on /tg/ rather than /qst/? I've no issues or anything, but I'm surprised the janitors weren't up your ass about it.
>>5703746
I'm guessing that the use pf pshysical game elements qualifies it.
>>5703746
I assumed I would have to start running them on /qst/ after the board went up, but as long as the mods are actively protecting them being on /tg/, I'll stay there.

Someone here on /lg/ posted one a long time ago. Someone else posted a galaxy squad suit with an eyeball head. I just put em all together.
I did give my guys glow in the dark eyes, though, so they could avoid eye contact at night.
Toys R Us had the fun in the Park pack but they didn't have the Ghost Rider set. I can wait a bit longer for the Ghost Rider set, so glad I got the Park set though.
I made a mech today /lg/
Tried to go out of my comfort zone and well I guess it's alright
Also room for someone I guess

I dig it, although only red and black is a bit eye-searing.

I like it. It looks like a Gunboy Wilbur.
>tfw I can't find the guide for this
Reverse image search just brings me to other sites where people are trying to figure out how.
>>5703903
The one downside to MOCs. A lot of people just show fancy stuff, but never reveal how to copy it.
>>5703912
pretty frustrating. I could probably spit-eye the front but man I'm sure the back has to be a certain way.

in my heart it'll always be a small rocket engine.
