Considering DB SHFs are, well, shit, I have high hopes for the kits. Goku, like the SHODO figures looks better than the SHF one so I wish Bandai will do their normal thing of making tons of kits.
I think this line will be ideal for getting the many forms of Frieza, Cell and Buu.

They're alright but pretty outdated considering all the leaps in toys made every year. a big benefit to the western secondary market is that DBZ fans seem to not know much about non-DB figures, so they're easily impressed and willing to drop hundreds for absolutely mediocre figures.

18 did the typical flaw of DB SHF where the face is just wrong. Her eyes were triangular when it should be parallelogram shaped. Basically 90% of the issues I have with them are the face and head sculpts.

SHF does a good job, they are up there in regards to quality.

Not really since they are still using the shitty sculptor they have for that line, or at least keeping the weird and unique stylization they have.
My problem is that they don't seem to look like any version of the characters be it anime manga movies, but look like a shitty fan art or the sculptor just made it from memory. I get it for the body because articulation and what not but the heads...other companies, hell their own company does it better in different departments.

Dude, you can see engineering improvements coming out from them all the time, and experimenting with new methods for things like the realistic faces.
Those are solid improvements and efforts to improve.

They can do way better. Kits, candy toys, and capsule figures can pull off better head sculpts. Only their ''best'' brand SHF suffers for whatever reason. Megahouse is part of Bandai too right? They do great DB statues in similar/smaller scale. Just the fact that they can do better but wont pisses me off.

Anime wise, the girls (Precure) made great advancements. Best anime one so far is Pegasus Kouga.
the newest one I got was the awaken ver and it was still about the same. I haven't opened Beerus yet but visually still looks a bit off. As for future ones who knows till in hand. Kid goku looks alright so far.

Maybe Love Live, Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon, and maybe Master Asia, but the Kinnikuman figures are excellent, and Awakening Goku is just better than the other DBZ figures before it (I would make an exception for Krillin).

I probably should have been more specific. Of course no figure is 100% optimal, but the issues I come across with SHF are often much more than just little things. Major discolorations on some, laughably limited posability on others (especially Vader), shitty molds, the list goes on.
And y'know, the issues I get generally aren't too big of a deal, but I expect more quality out of my figures for the prices they want me to pay for them.

Ok here are head comparisons of some of the Gokus that Bandai has made in the last couple of years. Figuarts still looks like they are at the lower tier. All I'm saying, since they can make it better, they should. Head sculpt makes hella difference.

So long as it's accurate, has neck articulation, swappable faces and hair I'm not sure what else they could possibly add although I wish Bandai were consistent with their shading.
The shf goku mold has it's problems but it's not the head. And that shodo release the one anon was gushing over is just a scaled down worse version of it.

The first Goku heads, the problem was the hair was way too puffy or the shape was a weird interpretation of the 2D drawing. Like if you shave their head they would look like freaks where their eyes are at where our tip of nose should be. Granted Toriyama*s art looks like that at times but that's mostly due to the characters head facing downwards.
The others are not as bad with the face parts being too low. And hair details looks better even at a smaller size.

No, few reused parts. The "standard" is referencing the size of these figures. Just like high grade or master grade for Gundams, we have Figure-rise Standard for these. There's another name for the busts. Etc.
If they are doing vehicles, I wish they focus more on kid Goku era DB. Want some iconic Toriyama vehicles in this scale.

I just realized that SSJ3 Goku, SSJ2 Gohan, Cell, and Kid Buu are all listed for 2016 while the rest are "Reference Exhibition". I guess they're starting off this line with some of the main fights of arcs.

I have a feeling figuarts will focus on Super and the kits on Z. But it might be all mixed up. Since the kits are cheaper they might have younger targets in mind, but not sure what age group is watching Super the most. If they have lots of new fans the kits might get more Super focused.

Please. This line could be great for characters with tons of forms and characters that aren't quite popular enough to warrant an actual SHF.
