Most toys nowadays are based on existing franchises.
There's no originality.
In the 80's they made tv shows and movies specifically to sell the toys.

I had a few of these as a kid. I surprised the whole concept hasn't come back in some form. Then again, Micro Machines haven't been around much either. I guess people aren't interested in dinky collectable vehicles anymore.
