I myself plan to display Yugi with the god cards, as well as Dark Magician, and Dark Magician girl, but thats about it, because of the lack of affordable/good looking Dual Monster figures.
Granted, if I could find 3 of the Blue eyes mini statures, I'd totes get a Kaiba revo just to display with those.

i second this. i got the models of the god cards when i was a wee lad, and damnit they were awesome. theyre not the normal plastic that most models are either, theyre like a thicker rubber. if you can find them for cheap definitely pick them up.
i also remember an old toy line did most of the basic cards like summon skull, gaia the fierce knight, and blue eyes. i remember those being pretty good too

Not OP, but I'm thinking of a display myself.
I was thinking about picking up that Revo Dark Magician and Figma Dark Magician girl to go along with it, and have their cards standing behind them like they were being summoned (Might even throw in Kuriboh because I have that NECA) but my "problem" is I don't know which versions of the cards to use.

Op here is a display idea buy some of heroclix of yougioh they have very good scoulpts (better buy the starter pack comes with blue eyes and dark magician and 4 other monsters) after you finaly get the action figures of yugi or and kaiba you can put them like they are playing against eachother if you stand the cards up in front of the figures and in front of the cards you put the heroclix figures it looks like they are playing and the monsters are projected on the plaing field

Holy fuck, I was just searching for info on new products half an hour ago with hopes of a new collectors set with more nostalgic cards being announced and found about the new Kaiba and Yugi mega-tins with playable Obelisk/Slifer and new versions of Blue Eyes and Dark Magician, but this is waaaaaay better! It's understandable, they already gave us pretty accurate Yugi decks in the first legendary set, so they are going for something a bit different this time. And I also doubt you can build an actual deck of 40+ cards with just the ones Jonouchi and Kaiba use in the show, so the new support cards double as filler too.

I just hope they didn't got fucked up in that box or something, they've been stored in an underground unit for years and it can get pretty hot in there. My DX model Exodia soft plastic chains are a bit sticky despite it being on display in my house, so I guess the gods could be in worse shape.
