The wings tend to pop off in flight. You can secure them with 2x2 plates and brackets though.

I've never had that problem. Just make sure they're clipped on correctly and they'll stay on fine.

OP, it's a fantastic TIE fighter and probably the best non-UCS one Lego has made to date. Just don't pay the normal $70 retail as that price is ludicrous. Amazon has it for $56 and I feel that's a great price for the set.
